Woah what? I'm an idiot because I dislike the "comic-relief" character of a show? It's not as if I hate Hurley's guts, and want him to die in a giant fiery explosion. I just thought it would be dramatic if one of the fan-favorites was killed. My logic was that it should be Hurley because most of the others (save charlie) still have something to offer.

My shallowness and appreciation for pretty people(im one of these myself) dictates that fat ass Hurley dies, He looks disgusting. He does ammount to nothing. What he eats in a day could feed the rest of the survivors for months.

I don't think Hurley should be killed off, he's funny. He does have some sort of importance in the show; the cursed numbers.

I think one of the reasons the survivors are on the island is to have some sort of change in their lives. Like how Jack needs to learn how to let go, how Charlie should stop using heroin, Hurley needs to learn not to worry so much so he wont have his out-of-control eating habbits, how Locke needs to trust people again (maybe)....etc. What I am trying to say is if you think Hurley should get the boot then why not Charlie, Kate, Clair, Jin...all those “useless” characters? Lets say if Hurley’s so called only duty was to warn the others about the numbers, what have the other useless characters done so far to help? Their stories haven’t been fully explained yet? Well, so hasn’t Hurleys....not anyones...yet. So far what I have noticed is that John Locke, Walt and Aaron are the only ones that have great importance in the show. Even If you’re trying to say that Hurley has no basic value in the help of getting rescued you are wrong, All he has done is help others......

How could so many people hate such a sweet guy... I love Hurley and hope he stays on the show for a long time to come... he actually made me cry in the last ep because Libby died, he needed her, that was really her only importance on the island... to make Hurley feel good about himself and feel loved!

How anyone could want him gone is beyond me, he's utterly adorable!

Useless as in helping the other castaways to survive. What I am saying is that Hurley hasn't helped, except for making the other castaways laugh. Whereas people like Jin can catch fish to help feed the others, Jack is a doctor, Kate can track in case anything happens to Locke - our current tracker/hunter.

Hurley has sufficiently managed to:
a.) Eat alot.
b.) say "dude" alot.
c.) say that the numbers are bad.

I'm not insulting Hurley because he's a "fat-slob" or anything, i think his character has very little importance during the second season into the third. We all know about the numbers now. Hurley knows just as much about the numbers as everyone else.

Help others as in how?

He is very active on the island, creating a golf course to ease people's tensions, taking the census that reveals that Ethan was not on the flight, heading into the jungle to find Rousseau; and ultimately recovering a battery for Sayid to use for the raft's radar. Helping Sawyer find that frog (not sure if that was a good thing though) He tries to help people emotionally, the way it was turning out, sexually as well but Liby died. *shrugs* He may not have a special skill that is very useful on the island like Jin or Locke but he tries to do what he can to help.
