Cable Respect Thread

Say it was a rematch, in an isolated non inhabited planet. I think Silver Surfer would still take the match. But we would see more from both sides, and the fight would last a bit longer as well.

Gambit & Bishop "Sons of the Atom" #4

Cable did not get rid of the T.O. until Cable #100 in 2002. However in 2001, (Gambit and Bishop mini). Stryfe makes comment on what Cable is capable of if not hindered by the T.O. Ironically many of what he claims, is vary true if you read carefully Cable and Dead pool #1-10.

I don't have a scan of it, but there's also an early issue of Cable (Probably the Fathers and Sons storyline) where Nate mentions that because of the techno-organic virus he can only lift a few tools around while Stryfe could potentially move mountains.

Which is believable, since Cable not hindered by the T.O. blows up a mountain.

You're welcome 🙂

Cyclops refers to Cables intellect, as genius level in Messiah Complex. I don’t know how he is ranked in the marvel handbook.

Cable's handbook ratings as per 2005

Mutant Files: Nathan Christopher Charles Summers

Mutant Files: Nathan Christopher Charles Summers

Alright this is dedicated to one of my personal favorite marvel characters. I think his powers often overshadow its character. And something that is know being lost in the transition of character analysis. The Sum of the character plays a huge role in battle, and hate him or love him. He is one of the few out their that can be considered “Total Package“. I have the tendency to relay to much on Cable in tournaments, maybe after I am done with this informative thread you will come to realize as to why.

H2H/CQC - among the best.

Strategic battle planer, and worrier intuitive - among the best

Genius level intellect - Despite what the hand book states, he has formidable intellect.

Power - Unchecked, he has High Tier Psychic powers with limitless potential (Telepathy, Telekinesis, and other Psi powers).
He may not be the most popular character, however his back ground can be confusing considering some of the back story retcons. I will apply my best effort to sort out this mess. I am also not going to state, Cables growth in chronological comic book release. But in the order of how he was introduced raised, leading to current times.

------------------------
"Given time, your powers will develop naturally…your body and mind will be as one…and you will have no peer through out the universe!" - Rachael

"Here and Now, Nate. You posses as much if not more power than me or any other Telepath combined. Telepathically you are strong enough to sense a stray thought a continent away. Telekinetically you could extinguish a star with something less than a conscious effort". - Rachael

"The power to mold atoms as its clay" - Mr. Sinister

You have only seen a small sampling of the raw power that Cable possesses…while I know exactly what he is capable of. He could cloak his presence from any or all of us if he so desired. He could spy on our every movement, our every word…and we would never know he was there. If he intends to kill me, he will succeed. - Stryfe

Infancy and upbringing the “Chosen One”.

Nathan first appeared in Uncanny X-Men 201; as the biological son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. Madelyne turns out to be nothing more then Jean Greys clone, built for the purpose of combining what seems to be the ultimate genetic coupling according to Mr. Sinister.

Telekinesis
We begin to see hints of inherited powers, in X-Factor 48/50. When young Nathan seemingly telekinetically repealed Jean Grey who at the time had absorbed a portion of Madelyne, and the left over essence of Phoenix Force.

Telepathy

Young Nathan is seen as a threat due to his potential, and is infected by the T.O. by Apocalypse. In fact it was young Nathan, that yanked Jean into his own psyche. However it was not just Jean. Apocalypse, and Cyclops was brought into the boys psyche. Infected with the T.O. Cyclops hands over Nathan to the unknown women (Rachael?) so that he can be treated. (X-Factor 65-68.)

Return to Infancy.
A brief interlude and fast forward much closer into current times.
In the mist of Wanda’s massive reality warp that took place in the House of M arc. Cable essence was split into separate realities. In one reality he was restored back to his infancy.

Sinister couldn’t have worded its phrase any better: The power to mold atoms as its clay. Yes Apocalypse was absolutely right, this child posses immense potential.
Cable & Deadpool #17, 18.

Raising Askani’son
Well roughly 2000 years into the future. Rachael Summers, arranges for his parents and Askani Clan (Psychic cult/tribe) to properly raise Cable. This provides the fundaments as to why Cable becomes an expert Telepath/Telekinetic to match his grunt power. Now the significance isn’t just his mastering of Psychic powers. But his training as a soldier with futuristic technology at a vary young age. He also keeps in mind major events, and principle characters in the turning points of Earth past history. For a man from the future, that wishes for a better tomorrow. This information is vary valuable.

Comparing potential between Stryfe and Cable.
Cables potential exceeds Strfye. Cables powers unleashed knocked out, Strfye when they where released.

Overcoming the Transmode virus infection.
Now it is in “The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix” that he pulls off a mighty impressive feat. The Transmode virus has completely taken over, spreading itself all over its body. Nate who at the time is roughly around 11-12 years old manages to sub-due T.O. infection.

http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/9799/acf4pg14oy6.jpg

Comparison, Nova to Cable.

This is by far no easy feat. Lets compare it to current times. Nova with the Full Nova Force and World Mind, at best could only place barriers to resist the inevitable take over of transmode virus.

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/5708/novav4mmmw160ax3.jpg

And its no fluke, Cable has essentially done so twice!!. The other time being when Cable overcame the Phalanx Embryo, to replace its missing T.O. mesh. And he did so in a cationic state.

Talk about ball’s of steel and an Iron will. A 12 year old boy accomplished what, Nova with all his glorious tech couldn’t.

Now I want members to keep in mind, the words of former host of the Phoenix; Rachael Summers who at the time is vary old and vary wise.

This is a hint of what it would be like, if Cable could attain its full power with out burning out or going into critical mass.

Given time, your powers will develop naturally…your body and mind will be as one…and you will have no peer though out the universe!

It was young Cable that cut the psi bond between young Stryfe and Apocalypse. He also helped destroy a weaken Apocalypse (yet accessing Stryfe power) when he aided Jean and Scott.

for more reference check out; “Adventures of Cyclops & Phoenix” and “Askani'Son”.

Wow I didn't know he was so powerful great scans Id.

Does Cable have healing factor? I once saw him took a bullet in the head and he still lives...

quick question that I always forget. Who is Cable's mother? Maddy or Jean?

Maddy

I have an announcement to make. I planned on really letting in on thick, since I was going to add on a crap load of info and scans. But my hard drive went ape shit. This project is now on hold.

Thank you. From what I gather, what you see in his God Like Era is just the surface of what Cable can really do. In theory he is capable of much more. But that’s left for interpretation.

In Cable and Deadpool, he benefited from Deadpools healing factor. In Cable, and Soldier X, his TK is so finite it reacts on its own to protect Cable, stopping the bullet before it hit’s the cranium.

Originally it was Maddy.

However, in the whole HoM fiasco. He history was partially re-written. Sinister mentions, that he too was built from the stock pile of two genetic templates (Jean and Scott). Now more then ever, X-Man and Cable are more alike then before, and technically do not parents.

Does Cable still carry that Deadpool's healing factor now? He looks very powerless in his new series against Bishop. His body got shot and doesn't look like he heals right away. Thanks!
