There are only a few movies that have actually scared me. I'm quite de-sensitized now, so these are movies that scared me as a kid (when I was "innocent"😉. Here they are:
1. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - This is my favorite movie now, but as a kid this movie scared the crap out of me. Because of the way it's filmed, it seems very realistic - like a documentary. That made it all the more terrifying to me.
2. Warlock - This movie is another that freaked me out. Especially (SPOILER WARNING) the scene where the Warlock bites that guys tongue out and spits it into a frying pan. Sick scene that aided in the corruption of my mind.
3. Arachnophobia - This movie made me have a fear of spiders for a long time growing up. It's still creepy to watch, to this day.
4. Jaws - To this day, I'm still a little hesitant about swimming in the ocean, after watching this movie multiple times due to my father - (his favorite movie).

That's about all I can think of.
"Scarecrow" was great. I also liked "The Funhouse" and "Rabid", which weren't scary, per se, but did have imagery that stays in your head awhile. Like the zombie chick in the root cellar in "Evil Dead". I can still recall her creepy yellow eyes peeking out as the kids played cards together.
When I was 11, I liked the novel concept of Freddy Krueger, but I tried to watch the original "Nightmare" a couple of weeks ago and had to turn it off.
The guy in "Jeepers Creepers" was interesting enough in the first movie, but lost all his mystique in the next.
The movie that probably scared me the most was "jaws". I lived in Hawaii, and my parents forced me to sit in the ocean to confront my fears. I was 4 or 5. I know it isn't logical to fear sharks as human predators, but it would have been difficult to convince me 25 years ago.
I watched a shark documentary last month and didn't go to bed immediately afterwards. Their soulless eyes kind of freak me out still.
I saw It's Alive at the movies when I was 8 years old. That movie scared the crap out of me! I saw it again recently and it's pretty hokey, but when you are 8...
I saw Trilogy of Terror at around 9 years old. The fetish doll story also scared me silly. I remember running to jump into bed so the little doll wouldn't get my feet! lol.

When I was 7 or 8 I watched The Thing up until the first transformation with the dogs in the fenced area and I couldn't watch anymore, it took me until just last year to finally watch the whole movie. (I'm 18 now 😮)
Hellraiser creeped me out to.
