Frankenstein & Jason Voorhees....distant cousins???

Hey, has anybody ever noticed how similar Jason Voorhees and Frankenstein's monster are? Think about it....

1. Both are technically dead.
2. Both are re-animated corpses.
3. Both have super-human strength.
4. Both have been rejuvenated and brought back to life by lightning.
5. Both have been seemingly destroyed by fire at one time or another.
6. Both are wanted killers.
7. Both have a face only a mother could love.
8. Both have countless sequels.
9. Both have met other famous monsters. Frank met Dracula and Wolfman and Jason has met Freddy and met Leatherface in "Jason Vs. Leatherface" comic series.
10. Both started out as sympathetic characters that you could actually feel a little sorry for.
11. Both have pulled an arm off one of their victims. (Jason Lives & Son of Frankenstein)
12. Both have their share of wounds, scars, bullet wounds, etc....
13. Both have been frozen only to be thawed out at a later time.(Jason X & House of Dracula)
14. Neither seem to die for good.
15. Both are huge, hulking monstrosities.
16. Both have killed by choking their victims to death.
17. Neither one is all too smart and can be fooled rather easily.
18. Both have a fear of the elements...Frankenstein = Fear of Fire, Jason = Fear of Water

If anybody else knows some, please post them. I may have forgotten some. But, here's the $64,000 dollar question...who would win in a fight between the two? Jason doesn't have any machetes, knives, axes, or anything...just his hands and strength. The same for Frankenstein...DISCUSS........

Jason needs to be corrected by being remade. Modern age confuses fiction with nonsense...if you create this kind of character it must have an understandable background. Frankenstein is a perfect creation from the past, now they alter his image.

jason can regenerate from near fatal wounds i dont remeber frankie able to do that. but the classic one like the one de nero played was amazingly strong and was super fast and could servive in any place.

well there was a frankenstine in the movie frankenstine the true story i believe he was bulletproof and also servived a MASSIVE explosion only thing that killed him was having glaciers fall on him

Okay, I think they based Jason off of Frankenstein maybe....but Frankenstein is ancient, so of course they didn't do it on purpose or whatever

wow!

frankenstein and jason in a fight jason would probably get womped, since he had trouble with freddy, and frankie is maybe smarter or just as smart as freddy, plus he is faster, and ALOT stronger.

Who actually won in the Jason VS Leatherface comic series?

Well, both...sort of. In issue #1 they briefly go at it, and Jason wins by knocking the chainsaw out of Leatherace's hands. But the fight is broken up by Leatherface's brother, Hitchhiker....

In issue #3, the real fight goes down...and Leatherface wins...sort of. Well, technically his brother wins. Jason is busy fighting Leatherface and his brother hammers Jason in the back of the head and bashes his brains out (literally)...they tie up Jason in chains and drag an unconscious Jason out to the lake and dump his body (and his machete) in the lake...After a few minutes, Jason wakes up, and comes up from out of the lake...he stares at the house where Leatherface and his bizarre family lives for a few moments, and although he could easily go back inside and slaughter everyone, he decides against it. He just wants to get back home to Crystal Lake. He's had enough of Texas and the unfamiliar surroundings, and is "homesick". He starts his loooong walk all the way back to Crystal Lake; killing everyone and anything that gets in his way...

It's a very good read and I would highly recommend it to any Friday the 13th fans or Texas Chainsaw Massacre fans, but good luck tracking down a copy of it; it's pretty rare and hard to find. And if you do manage to track down a copy, be prepared to spend a pretty penny for it. I've seen them go from anywhere to $80 to $100 on Ebay...

Well said!!!!!! 😄 ✅ 👆

I can defintely see parallels between Jason and Frankenstein, both were made into monsters, but the viewer is to feel more compassion for Frankenstein, but there is also the sympathy aspect in the fact that Jason was bullied and drowned and his mother killed, and after all there are only so many stories to tell.

However Frankenstein is a work of literary genius, the same cannot be said for Friday the 13th.

hmm yeah, totally. I felt bad for Jason for like, the first few movies. Then I didn't give a shit after like, 8 or more sequels 😛

for those that dont know, Frankenstein is the creator. the creature is just referred to as the creature or the monster.

I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with another "Friday the 13th" sequel called "Friday the 13th part XII : The Bride of Jason".....

😆 😆 😆

I mean, why not? It's no dumber than "Jason in space", or "Robo-Jason", .....and Jason going to N.Y....
