For one, he wasn't in the elevator, he was in a safe with a timer hooked up to it so when the time ran out, it opened. All his dad had to was sit and talk with Jigsaw until time ran out and he would have found his son pretty much unharmed, just like Jigsaw said. And the reason why it seemed he got there so fast after he was in the house is the whole thing was pre-recorded. Get it?
