Better Marvel Director.........Sam Raimi vs Bryan Singer

I think Raimi's Spiderman films are much better than Singer's X men movies Raimi captures the whole feel of the comics which make Spiderman more popular and the enemies are much better developed in the Spiderman films my vote goes to Sam Raimi

i wouldn't waste my eyes watching a tobey maguire movie

Singer has my vote. Raimi's done a good job with some of the characters like Harry Osborn and such, yet I think he's decided to spend way too much time having Peter whine and complain instead of cracking some jokes and being a man. Maybe for the first film up until the end fight he could've done this, but the majority of the second film was him being even worse than in the first one. Singer has done a good job with the mutant politics, which is far harder to get through to the audience than "I like this girl, see..."

Singer.

Raimi, no doubt. The Spider-Man movies were amazing in the way of getting into the characters heads, how they feel, what they're thinking.

It's a tough decision. Both have proven to be perfect for their subject material. Singer has more highbrow appeal because of the other movies he's made, while Raimi's only other work has been making wacky horror comedies. I will say Singer because he had the tougher job; the X-Men were less known in the mainstream, and he had to handle multiple superpowered characters within a single story narrative, while Raimi just had to worry about Peter Parker.

Sam Raimi, Singer is Pretty good but Raimi is Great..Singer changed alot of things within the x-men to make the movie appeal for hollywood...

Singer, but barely.....

for all the above reasons and for the non-sensical one that my first name is also Bryan with a "y". 😛

You should have added Ratner to the poll. From the looks of X3, I think he would have done a better job than Singer hands down. I also voted for Raimi. Spiderman has that comic book feeling when watching it. It's amazing.

Bryan Singer Rocks More Then Reimi Because Reimi Turns The Stories About Spider-Man Up Side Down Usually While Singer Done An Even More Great Job Working With The Mutant Relations And Pasts And Politics In The X-Men Movies And Its Much Harder Then Whats Reimi Is Doing. Common'! Who The Hell Would Put Venom In A Third Spidey Film When Eddie Brook Even Doesn't Come So Early In The Goddamn Comics? But I Aint Complaining Bout Him His Great Too But You Gotta Admit....Singer Is Better! 🙂

Singer.

X-men 1 and 2 had lots of action wound in with plot when the characters were driven to heightened emotional anxieties you actually cared about them. Also multiple hero's origins and stories is much more difficult to get across believably in 1 film and keep the plot moving at the same time while all Raimi has to worry about is 2 origions per movie

Spider-man 1 and 2 spent to much screen time on watching peter whine about his life, Instead of being a man. Crying about MJ and now moving onto Gwen, it makes it seem he just really needed to get laid badly. And when the characters are driven to emotion, its laughable and, at the same time, cringe worthy.

The spider-man movies feel like a watered down version of the comics where as X-men movies are a perfect adaption (well, the ones that singer did).

I voted for Singer.
I just feel that Raimi's Peter Parker isn't taking his role of instant superhero with enough humour and irony. That's why I liked the 1960s series so much. Peter acknowledged that his role as Spiderman was kind of absurd in an almost funny way. He saved lives but nobody knew it and so he got treated like a nerd (especially by the women he was interested in). Like the episode where the power goes out in NYC and his girlfriend gets mad at him for not coming over to her when she was scared (he was the reason that the power was turned on again). Or the episode where he was saving the star player of the football team and ended up being kicked off the football team for not showing up to the game. I always loved that about Spiderman!
But I find that Raimi's Spiderman spends too much time pining over Mary Jane and is in general just too angsty. And also [SPOILER]what was with them revealing his identity to MJ so soon in the franchise?!? That is totally gonna ruin the tension that always made their relationship so dynamic.
I'm not too fond of all the changes Singer made to the characters, but I feel he was better overall.

Sorry, I don't know how to do that whole blackout thing for spoilers 🙁

its [spoiler ]Juggernaut kills Cyclops[ / spoiler]

without the spaces.

Thanks🙂

I didnt add Brett Ratner to the post because we havent seen a finished Marvel film from him as such we just seen a trailer which looks awesome but we cant compare him to Raimi and Singer on that trailer alone we seen two finished Marvel films from Raimi and Singer

Singer all the way.

raimi... i think singer was poor... raimi imo did a fine job of bringing spidey to the screen, albeit accompanied by a little too much whining i think...

Which is a shame. I'm not a hardcore Spidey fan ,but I like the way Maguire potrays Parker. Even if you don't like him, there are other great qualities about the movies (the villians for example). They are very enjoyable movies. But I respect your opinion.

I agree with you there. Maguire was ok, but I imagined a very different Parker (like the one in the cartoon (I never read any of the comic books, b ut was raised watching the old XM and Spidey cartoons).
I still would prefer the Spider Man movies though. Singer just missed something I really liked about Xm....

raimi has done better films in general but spiderman vs x-men id choose x-men
