Crappy Scanner Problems

Kay, one year ago tommorow, I got this scanner from my great Aunt and Great Uncle. It sucks. They're an old couple so I can simpathize. They gave me everything... EXCEPT for the instalation Disk. Everytime they visit they forget it, so... Some Comp Genius that comes and goes says there is a way to install it without the disk. Can someone tell me what to do to install it without a disk. Cause this is F***ed up by all means.

Go on google, and search "name of scanner drivers".

Okay it works now but they pics come up as just a page or colorful lines. What do I do to fix this?
