Is this fair at all???

Do you think its fair for companies to spy on you using Google when you apply for a job?

I'm trying to get a job and stuff and a friend of mine gave me this
link

http://www.bruinpied.com/what-is-bruinpied/

This guy got totally screwed by Google and it makes me wonder if its okay for companies to search for you name on Google
looking for dirt on you?

Wouldn't that be like invasion of privacy?

If dirt on you is on Google, start to worry.

When I put my name in, it is all good, but not me. 😱 I guess I sell DVDs and still in high school, not me. 😆

I typed my name in before........It says I'm an author........ 😖mart:

the only thing that comes up for me is a high school scholarship i once got.

probably better for me actually.

I'm one of the 11 jews killed at the Munich Olympics in '72.

Your criminal record can be looked up at anytime, so I don't see why they would need to use Google.

😂

When I put my last name in (it's exceedingly rare), I discovered new, distant relatives, and through them I discovered some family history I never knew.

Bruinpied. Fair? Not to us. Welcome to Earth.

it's worse. Employers are also using myspace and facebook profiles, the latter which they can hack into using illegal tools. Some use online investigators to check out what you've bought and what porn sites you've visited and then don't hire or fire you for "moral" reasons. It's really getting out of hand.

^Same thing I was thinking.

It would seem if you found out about this, you could sue them for invasion of privacy. Don't you think???

I mean who's to say that someone didn't put up a bunch of false info about you?

Well, if you can chose between someone that has someone putting a bunch of false info about them on the net and someone that....doesn't.....well, I'd take the safe one....

That doesn't make any sense. This is the first i've heard of anything like this.

what it's come down to is that some companies won't hire you for "moral reasons" nowadays. I mean the do google searches, credit records, cookie searches network page searchs. Hell, i wouldn't be surprised to find out that the CIA and FBI sent out their peace group/environmental group/liberal group blacklist to companies.
Hell, if you work for any company owned by ross perot you can be not hired/fired for getting divorced or having a marriage annulled.

If employers knew KMC users' real names, no one here would ever get a job! (then they'd be on KMC all day...or at least until they couldn't afford to pay their Internet bill).

In AZ, you only need to inform your employer if you've been convicted of a felony. Otherwise, its entirely unnecessary. No one really cares about infractions or misdemeanors.
