To post in an old dead thread with nothing relevant to add to it. Thus bumping it from however many pages back, back to the front page. Frowned upon by the majority of the community.
However if you make a bump and something you post in the thread is completely relevant and can spark new discussions and/or debates on the threads subject matter it is okay.
