He has a hell of a big name! They should ban guys from using their momma or great-great-grandma's maiden names! I mean, didn't anybody learn from Fuamatu-Ma'Afala?

(drumroll, please......okay, I'm done)

Yeah, really, where as guys like Dre Bly...? Nothin'.

I remember UGA had a couple of those mama's boys on their squad for a while in Max Jean-Giles and Gordon Ely-Kelso, and they didn't exactly come through with the manliest of hyphenated titles.

The dude's new official name is Mo Drew, whether anyone likes it or not.

Well nothing beats Rotherlesolibtererer.

Does anybody know how to spell that name on a regular basis? Yesh...or atleast get two guys in the same room to spell it.

The spelling of Roethlisberger is irrelevant. I'm talking about dudes hanging on to their mama's maiden names. My mom's been married three times, and I know plenty of people (including my wife) whose mother had them during their 2nd or 3rd marriage, and they don't have hyphenated names. It's called taking pride in the name you were meant to have (whichever it may be), not being wishy-washy about the present but still clinging to not even the most recent past. If they get married again, who knows what the name will be then. Just a little lesson for Mo Drew. 😛

Just heard Cowher is leaving. The official statement will not come until Monday, but reports are that he is stepping down.

Oh and LT DEMOLISHED the MVP race. taking 44/50 votes. And really im not even sure why Brees got 4, looking at the numbers I would take Manning's season easily. ah well great year for LT.

It was a great year for him.

I dont really care if its hyphanted or not. It's thier choice to want it. If they feel proud of thier original name, why not let them take it when they get married. Ask any male if they want to get rid of thier last name and see how many say yes.

so what do u think of KC playing Indy

KC is going to the Superbowl.

And Art Shell was fired....

Cowhers quitter conference is set for 1pm Friday.

I dont think KC will go to the playoffs.

To get there, they need Green to be absolutly perfect and that defense to be damn good. They cant just get by with Johnson.

assuming you mean superbowl I agree. Edwards said he would put Huard in if Green struggles too.

That would be a mistake.

Thank god I don't have to watch the most depressing coach in NFL history coach my favorite team.

A few things about Cowher...some good, some not-so-good

1) It's up in the air about which coaches are more effective, as far as coach's coaches (Coughlin, e.g.) or player's coaches (Cowher, e.g.), but I think when it's all said and done, I prefer my team to have a player's coach. There is less B.S. in the clubhouse, off-the-field issues don't linger, and players seem to savor results more.

2) I've read the transcript of every post-game Cowher press conference (subscriber to Steelers Digest since late '80's), and I must say the media relations that coached the coach improved with each season. By the time 2002 rolled around, I could have probably filled in the blanks with the responses that were given.

3) 149 regular season wins, most by any team since he started.

4) I think 92 or something coaches came and went since he started.

5) 12-9 playoff record is slightly deceiving, for he was only 8-9 until last year's run.

6) 2-4 in AFCC games. This is the stat I hate the most. However, 1-1 in the Super Bowl is acceptable, but they should have been in the SB at least 4 times during his tenure.

7) He now lives 22 miles from where I do. I've driven past his neighborhood a few times, but I am not a stalker. If I run into the guy at the movie theater or car dealership, great.

8) Will miss the chin and spit flying on Sundays.

I'll give Cowher credit, he is a pretty damn good coach.

Rumer is Cowher is taking the Miami job...

where did you hear that? I have heard people talk about how he could have total control of the team IF he wanted the job. But none of the talk (at least around ESPN) thinks that he wants it. It is pretty clear he has no intention on coaching next year right now.

I cant see him taking it.

Wasnt there a good college position opening up?
