Wow, you know absolutely nothing about Culpepper last year than. You're mistaking last year with 2002. He was replaced by Gus Ferotte last year because he had 2 broken ribs in his back, not because he was doing bad. And it's amazing that you say he had a horrible season last year when he made it to the pro bowl and had much better stats than Mcnabb had.

You can take the comparison offensive, but it just proves that just because a player is cut doesn't mean he won't become a good player later on. So you cannot say that Lesner won't become a good player later on just because he was cut, there have been plenty of good players who were cut only to come back later and become starters on the team.

your absoutly right...i got 2002 and 2003 mixed up but i do all this stuff off the top of my head....im too lazy to look it up...not bad for someone who knows nothin huh

your tellin me i cant say lesnar isnt going to be a flop but what makes you think you can say he's the "real deal".........i can sit here and say lesnar isnt going to be anything more than a tackling dummy on a practice quad and if he's lucky he'll play a few downs or special teams in a couple games which would be the highlight of his NFL career....and if im wrong...than i'll say i was wrong and you can relish in the fact that you were right and i was wrong.....but as of right now that doenst look too possible...in fact, i've been right and you've been wrong but i dont think you're ever gonna be man enough to admit that

all right, fair enough. I'll admit when I'm wrong, but I think it's way to early to say how good Lesner will be. As of right now, yes, he is not good enough to be on an NFL team. That does not mean he won't become a good player though.

If anybody takes a wrestler onto their team. Seems like that would be a distraction.

And a mistake! 😘

Lesnar, if anything, will simmer in NFL Europe for a couple of years, then come on over to the NFL where he'll be a 30 YEAR OLD ROOKIE!

Great chance of making it in the NFL. 🙄

Wow, this NFL Talk thread really is going great, isn't it??

Anyways, since no one has anything to add besides a wrestler bombing in the NFL, I'll add this:

Any thoughts on this week's matchup between New England and Pittsburgh? Anyone think this could be the Patriot's first loss? Some experts are saying that, while some boldly disagree. They could be right, but then again, as Chris Berman says, "that's why they play the games."

I'll throw a few things out on the table regarding that:

1) This will be the toughest secondary BY FAR the great Steeler receivers will have faced this year. Randall Gay of the Pats had a great game against the Jets and Rodney Harrison is still very solid.

2) A lot of people think Belichick owns Cowher. That is definately true with the Patriots, where Belichick is 2-0 vs. Cowher, but when he was coaching the Browns, Cowher owned a 7-2 edge.

3) The Steelers are without Pro Bowl NT Casey Hampton and replacing with Chris Hoke, who has never made a start. Corey Dillon has traditionally been known as a Steeler killer.

4) Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is going to be so damn good in a few years it is scary!!

Anyways, there are a lot more points regarding the matchup but I felt those were four interesting ones.

i cant stand chris berman...he annoys me.......pittsburg does have a good chance of beating the patroits....the steelers do have a good linebacker core but im not sold on there secondary..if there linebackers can get to brady they have shot plus im not sure but i think its in pittsburg so if they can get a TD on there 1st possesion and get the crowd into it early than that can only help

The game's at 4:15 at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. Their secondary is young and inexperienced. I don't think the Pats will be playing with Troy Brown (questionable), so that leaves Patton, Givens, and Johnson as their three main passing threats.

There is no doubt the Steelers will need to score on one of their first two possessions. They have never played well coming from behind. When they get the lead they usually hold it, unlike other teams. I don't know the exact number, but I believe Bill Cowher only has one loss ever (Cincinnati in 2001) when leading going into the fourth quarter.

Also, in my opinion....
The Steelers are committed to being a run-first team this year and I don't expect them to pass much on first down. They will probably pass on two first downs in the game and the rest will be more like second down play action. Very few draw plays can and will be run against McGinnest and company. Look for Duce Staley to get 20-25 carries for about 80-90 yards.

the more i think about it the less i like pittsburg chances...pittsburg is gonna need balace to beat the partiots and i think they should put this game more on Roethlisberger shoulders than deuces...i disagree with you about the drwa plays...if roethlisberger can hit his recievers out of the shotgun than they could use the classic qb draw which could work

what do you think about the Lions vs Cowboys...dre bly and roy williams are both questionable but detroit is 3-0 on the road plus williams played last week so i think he'll play....i like the lions in this matchup..even though there are my team and i am biased....but the cowboys have no running game and lack defensive...if harrington makes smart decisions like last week big tuna isnt going to like the results

Roethlisberger is a good draw play QB but that's not one of his primary weapons like it is for a player like Michael Vick. The Steeler's main draw play back is Verron Haynes, and he's listed as probable, so we'll see.

In regards to the Cowboys/Lions matchup, I have been impressed (relatively speaking, mind you) with the Lions in one game I saw them (vs. NY Giants) and appalled by their play in the other (vs. Minnesota). I will tell you, Roy Williams is a stud on both sides of the ball for the Lions AND the Cowboys. But the Lion's Roy was hobbling a bunch and it's going to be up to backflipping Reggie Swinter to pick up the slack. Even though he had a TD in last week's game, that's not good.

The Lion's Defense has really stepped it up this year, even without their star LB Boss Bailey. The five sacks of Kurt Warner, even though he's not hard to sack, came in crunch time to seal the win for them.

Kevin Jones has been running hard since his injury and Harrington has stepped up his mental level this year. The Cowboys have gone backwards since Vinny's fumble 2 weeks ago.

It's going to be a close one, I feel. I just don't feel that that the Lions have the firepower to blow Dallas out. But I think they'll win, though. If it isn't close, and the Lions roll, things are going to get real ugly in Dallas real quick.

Prediction: Lions 20, Dallas 17 (OT) 😉

i dont think anyone is or ever will be as good at the draw play as vick i just think if pittsburg uses that play sporadically they can find some success.

i agree with you that the lions dont have the firepower(because of injuries) to blow out dallas but i do think they have enough talent to keep it less than interesting but parcells is an excellent coach and im sure dallas is gonna be prepped and ready for this game so its probly going to be closer than i want it to be

detriot didnt play minnesota yet..the two losses they have were against philly and green bay both those game the lions played horrible

Sorry, you're right, it was against Philly. It was right after their 2-0 start.

I knew it was one of those teams with the attention-getting wide receiver!

^^^^ lol... my two favorite teams

Wow, what a smackdown the Steelers put on the Pats. Impressive.

LETS GO STEELERS. I told you all, that the steelers was a team to be reckoned with. Here in Pittsburgh, the city is going nutty. We finally have damn fine team to watch again. So for all of you who doubted my words, Steelers are the shit, and will conquer all. We will clip the Eagles wings next week and end there winning streak aswell

To all of you Patriots fans...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, losers

nope... ur not beating the Eagles... well u might... cause our run defense is horrible... and it will be close.. but i think the Eagle will win... well i hope

Lets Go Eagles and Vikings!!!!!

eagles will defenantly be the most challenging team we play this year. I wont say it will be a blow out, but i think the Steelers will take the game at a comfortable pace. The only thing about the Steelers is that when they do ever get on a decent winning streak, we get over confident, which may be the downfall.

Early line is Philadelphia by 2-1/2....good news for Steeler fans. They play better in those circumstances.

good call....i dont think anyone thought they were gonna be this good but you did call it

philly and pittsburg should be an excellent matchup...all the so-called sports experts are jumping off the seattle bandwagon and onto pittsburgs

This is the second year in a row the Giants have upset the Vikings 🙂(they broke their undefeated winning streak last year.)
