Everyone had run off now. A couple of minutes another kid had run by, but having gotten no response from him, Kei had lost her temper. The blue stone had begun to glow then, and the boy had looked as though he were suffocating. She had let go of him at once and watched as he had immediately fallen to the ground, clawing at his throat and coughing up water. Had she done that? Well, she hadn't been able to ask because the kid had run off, leaving her alone in the oncoming darkness of night.
