That was a port from the MSX. Kojima didn't make it on NES, Konami decided to port it to NES.

i know, i'm just saying that metal gear has been on nintendo before... even twin snakes (which i know originated on the ps1) was on the gamecube

thats true...they also wanted him on melee, but he couldnt make it...

There must be a deeper reason as to why Snake is in this. I mean really now, SNAKE? That's very out of the blue, as is any "Third Party" character. I think a Metal Gear game is coming to Wii eventually. A new one, a port of 2 or 3, maybe portable ops, just some game. That is just me though, but I was thinking about it today.

I think the main reason is that Kojima and Sakurai are pretty good friends, and after the success of the first SSB, Kojima practically begged Sakurai to put Snake in Melee.

I mean, come on, if your friend is begging for a cameo in something you're making, wouldn't you at least consider doing it for him?

As for the others, as least they're restricting 3rd-party characters to only those that have been on Nintendo consoles. Though it WOULD be fun to kill Cloud with Link and hush those fanboys up... 😛

lol...

I just got a Nintendo magazine & I got a free DVD which included footage of SSBB. Not much though, but it was the intro. It was good though! It showed Meta Knight, Pit, Samus (in blue suit) & Wario as newcomers, but that's all...so is that all or what? Surely more charatcters than that, surely!!!

So finally Samus shows her face, when did she last show her face? It's the first time for me, but then I am not a fan so that's probably why...

First off Mario, Link, Kirby & Pikachu run in & each changed their appearence from the last game. Mario & Link (mostly Link) changed which was noticed but Pikachu & Kirby hardly anything or nothing at all!

Each had a special move. Mario blasted everyone with this blue blast of some sort, then Link whacked Mario with his Triforce strike & kept slashing his sword in a triangle. Kirby put a cooking hat on his head & cooked up a Mario...? He looked mad about that! Pikachu I can't remember what he did...

As for the newcomers, Meta Knight swooped in gave Mario & Kirby a slash each, then defended himself with his cape from an arrow from Pit. Both were fighting then both got blashed from normal Samus, then after the blast, her armor fell off. All three fighting then turned around at a motorbike.

It was Wario, who skidded his bike & crashed into a wall, rofl!! 😆 He got up everyone looked at him, then he made his move, his discusting move of course.

Then someone was talking to snake in Japanese, asking if he heard of SSBM. He said yeah & then was asked to join. He thought about it, but no anwser, then was asked where he was. He was in a bleeding box!!! Some others were fighting then he jumped out as another newcomer. And that's about it.

Well hope you enjoyed that...

so that makes 2 people who've actually watched the video

Yep...wait only two? So who else saw it? Don't any of you guys buy gaming magazines?

i saw the video... and i used to get gaming magazines, but now i just read the ones my friend gets in his subscription XD

It came with a new gaming magazine. I forgot to name of it though...grrrr, but it's the first issue it's with.

yea right...i saw it at ign 2-4 months ago..., along with nearly everyone else here... 🙄

then why did people act like it was new news when i posted Pitt and Metaknight would be in this one?

easy to answer..
1. they didnt read this thread before you posted them..or
2. they were being sarcastic...

question is whether that easy answer is wrong or not... anyway, i hope there's an option to play this with the Wii controller, because it's beginning to sound like there won't be

no..i think they said its GC controller only...

curses... it would be hard to play w/ the Wii Controller, but who knows how much funner it could've been

lol I dont envision playing it with Wii controller.. but I'd definately like to try whatever controller scheme they cooked up for it (if they did)

Last I checked, I believe they were designing a pad for the Wii with all the proper buttons for playing SNES games. I assume that, if nothing else, that controller will be used for games not conducive to motion control, such as Brawl.
