Yeah. F.L.U.D.D. is pretty useless compared to his Down+B move in Melee.
The F.L.U.D.D.'s only purpose is edge-guarding. It's useless for almost everything else.

Its because his bad matchups outweigh his good matchups.. its not to suggest to people "hey, dont ever play yoshi".. its just letting people know that should they choose to main yoshi in a serious setting.. that they will have a fairly difficult time (which some may find appealing, others not so much).. I mean hell.. I play samus and she's pretty far down there.. I even played her at some wacky tournament that mcdonalds hosted just up the street... I lost to metaknight unfortunately, who wound up getting 1st place, but I most certainly gave it all I had.. its just that metaknight was able to go underneath the stage entirely and come up on the other side, and still nail me and send me across the other side of the stage and off the map.. I'd go so far as to say he's probably the most broken tournament-legal character I've ever seen
Well, that's what it's telling to tournament fighters. Do you think that a tournament player who's serious about winning would spend their time trying to perfect a character who's low on a tier list? I doubt it. If there's ever a tournament with a prize of 1 million dollars, then I guarantee that there won't be a low-tier or middle-tier character on the roster since the players want to win that money at all costs.
Like I said, tiers shouldn't exist. Rather than having a list of the characters based on how well they're built, the players should just rely on their own skills rather than picking a character with more advantages than the other characters.
The players should find out for themselves which characters are better suited for them, and not rely on tiers just to find out who have a better chance of winning. Because of tiers, we're constantly seeing the same characters in tournaments. I can understand if someone picks a top-tier character because they've been a fan of that character for a while, but there are people who pick top-tier characters just to give them the edge in battle and love the satisfaction of winning with ease. It's much more impressive when someone is deadly with low-tier characters since they're "suppose" to have bad match-ups.
I get tired of people saying "I lost only because I have a low-tier character" or "you won only because you have a high-tier character" because it's annoying. People who are obsessed with tiers are annoying, too.
There are plenty of other tournament-legal characters that are more broken than Metaknight. Trust me...

I dont think its fair to say that people will always pick those high on the tier list, because there are a good amount of people who are probably at this very moment, practicing with their favorite lower tier character in hopes of putting them on the map.. thus this list will be revised many times
Well, hardcore gamers and tournament players will almost always pick characters high on the tier lists since they want to win. Since the majority of the people who signs up for tournaments have the goal of winning the tournament, they would rather increase their chances by using top tier characters instead of the characters on the bottom. It seems like the only players who have enough patience to train with low-tier characters are the players who's favorite characters are low-tier, such as Captain Falcon fans and Link fans.
