I am having some thoughts about the footstool jump, too. Is this move going to be available to all characters? It just seems weird for someone big and heavy, like Bowser, to be able to jump off the head of someone small and light, like Pikachu. It would be good if the heavyweight characters of SSBB can't use the footstool jump.
I think it's pretty clear that all the characters will be able to perform this move.

When has Super Smash Brother's ever been that realistic?

Anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

new assist trophy
knuckle joe
the crazy matial artist baddie from the kirby games 😄

Well they did make only s few characters able to wall jump in melee.

Wall jumping is not exactly a skill that will help much in battles, seeing as the stages are not in the habit of having parallel vertical walls.

The footstool jump, however, is. Though I could see it doing more damage/greater velocity if done by large, powerful characters as opposed to speedy, light ones.

Knuckle Joe is an assist trophy? He would have made a good playable character...

It was kinda helpful in some instances actually. Like when you're on the edge, you could make wall jumps from hanging to confuse your enemies. The only level I've seen it be useful for another purpose (it's actual purpose), is the city from Ness' games. There are many parallel vertical walls there, and if you fall down it's basically your only rescue.

But I agree, it's probably 10 times less useful than this jump.

There were lots of vertical walls in Ness' stage in Melee?

not the one you are thinking of

the one where the UFO thing comes and its slippery and there are lots of buildings

kind f reminds me of the pokemon stage in the original game

Ahh, that was a Ness stage too?

Yes that one was perfect for wall to wall jumping, sometime it was the only way to survive if you fell too far.

As would Samurai Goroh... *sigh*

I wonder who's gonna have the best ultimate smash... I already know its not link, cuz he can only hit 1 target with it

It might depend on the strategy used with each person's unique smash. Of course it won't take long for people, of course with wi-fi to find an annoying strategy to use it.

Final Smashes are fairly unspammable, though, since there's only one per battle. The only way to spam it would be to figure out a way that you always get to it first.

That's what I don't like about final smashes: only one smash ball appears per battle. It would be cool if the player could adjust the amount of times that smash balls would appear in each battle. Then again, if the player chooses a high amount of smash balls, the battle would just be a game of "get the smash balls before your enemy does".

it kinda blows that we aussies get it next year..it means you guys get months to get pro online while im still learning 🙁

haha. Stupid Aussies.

j/k 😄 😛

its also supposed to be a tide turner... I think people like mario and samus with a beam / fireball tidal wave hitting everyone deals more damage, as opposed to hitting 1 person with a sword slash to activate an animation sequence, which will probably end up not helping but to maybe eliminate 1 person

mario and samus on the other hand can probably KO everyone on the map given that the circumstances are in their favor

I really doubt that a final smash that affects everyone on the screen will be more powerful than a final smash that affects only one person. A final smash that affects everyone on the screen could deal a lot of damage, but a final smash that affects only one person would be an instant KO.

I dunno I'd be pretty pissed if I was samus and my armor broke for mediocre damage

but i doubt it'll be medicore..i reckon it'd still rack up the % to 300 or more easily
