i liked the sunshine boss fights
and wow, im something like 35 stars into the game and it just keeps blowing my mind
my favorite so far was the sweet sweet galaxy because it used the SMB3 music, that was great
and i really like the star bits, they make for a perfect mix between using buttons and motion control
i say
1 galaxy
2 64
3 sunshine
not that sunshine was bad, the other 2 are just better

It Relates to you, so have you finally done the game 100%? also the main fault with sunshine for me was the boss fights.
I got all 121 with Mario and Luigi. And Sunshine just seemed to be a game made for people who live in tropical places. Slap in Sunshine and play some Jimmy Buffet and pass the time away.

The SMB3 music was beautifully remastered. I just stood there before getting the Star just to listen to the music a bit longer.
Galaxy took everything about Mario 64, revamped it, turned it on its head, and polished it, it even Incorporated the good about sunshine and improved upon it. For me, I think my favorite Mario games go.
1) Super Mario Bros. 3 (tie)
1) Super Mario Galaxy (tie)
2) Super Mario 64
3) Super Mario World
I cant decide if I like SMB3 or SMG better. Either way Galaxy is THE best game I've played in the past 10 years, having a greater impact and even being better then Metroid Prime, which is saying a lot.
So your problem is that he had too many powerups, which I counted and there was only 3 of them.
I'm not including the suits because you rarely used them.
But lets not comment on the impeccible level design, amazing graphics for the NES, and impeccible controls.
So Mario isnt great because he has powerups. Well, Master Chief isnt great because he has the shield, Snake isnt great because he has a bunch of items also, any character in a videogame isnt great because of the items they have in the game. That's an flawed arguement.
SMB3 can be done with just the Mushroom power up, adding more makes the game more enjoyable, and to effect they offer extra playability to the game, you don't have to use them, they are there to be experimented with, to try out then you can start to master them, SMB3 has powerups to enhance the game play, but anyway SMB3 just is a perfect game it has everything you could want from a Mario game, plus amazing levels, great enemies and bosses, and a perfect control scheme; good graphics, some of the best Mario levels are in SMB3.
