i think that gambit is great , for his level he is really great i mean he can take out most of the street levelers without having any enhaced strength,he just got acrobatic skills that he use to fight in h2h fights and his staff and many times he beat the crap out much stronger then him characters,the thing with sabretooth in the danger room... sabretooth had some metal gloves on his arms that prevented him to use his claws and it made him slower ( imagine how fast can you fight with metal handcuffs around all your arms) and he had metal mask on his mouth ,and he was after a fight training in the danger room and gambit just jumped on him, in mutant massacre sabretooth gave him a deadly almost strike, curent sabretooth will cut his legs and surve him as a french dish frog without legs
