Well the full extent of Darwin’s powers is not known but he instantly adapts to anything thrown at him from lasers, no atmosphere and even death. In the time he inhabited Vulcan’s body he is pure energy so magic may not work the same on him or he has a different level of abilities to counter act it. Without Darwin Vulcan wouldn’t stand a chance.
