Super Mario World rules.
There was no greater sense of gaming accomplishment back in the day, than when you journeyed all over that map and then the big Bowser fortress came out of the lake thing. You just felt "YES! I WIN EVERYTHING!"
Then realised you had to actually fight the most formidable Bowser of any Mario game ever.

I did, once. Don't ask me how, I don't remember.
Here's one for you. Does anyone remember that LEGENDARY shortcut where you get a feather, take a run up and fly. You keep going up by flying into the wall and it warps you to the end of the level? I think it was one of the last levels but I can't remember what game.
It was 3 I think...on the Nes. Later found on Super Mario Allstars (SNES) which has 1, 2 and 3 on it.
Was that the debut of the feather power-up? 3? I just remember it had the frog suit, and that shit was badass.
*Maintains cool*
I mean...what? Pfft, video games. Who needs 'em? Lookatcha, bunch of kids.

I remember that, and yes I did that cheat everytime on that level. 😄
It was when you became the racoon Mario. I can't remember if it was a feather that gave you that power though. 😕
