The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

It's been said that in real life, the first person to live to 150 has already been born. And that by the time that person reaches 150, the first 1000 year old will have already been born. Our own medical technology is advancing pretty steadily, and at this rate, immortality will be our b*tch. There's no good reason as to why Sci-Fi like Star Wars doesn't already have immortals. So the answer is: plot convenience.

Immortals tend to be stuck up annoying people in terms of SW, Vitiate and Scourge being the only two I can think of. But still, the whole cloning thing and Vader, just pisses me off.

There's a lot of stuff they've introduced in the EU that doesn't gel with the films. I'd be fine with the whole "Can't clone a Jedi" thing for Vader's limbs, but... F*ckin' TFU.

Exactly! If it wasn't for TFUII, I wouldn't even care about Vader being mostly robotic, but since they CAN clone Jedi, why the hell didn't Vader get his arms back? I'm sure someone of his power and influence could've got it done. Ugh.. Too much canon to deal with.

Im not sure it'd be that easy to just clone a limb and attach it. And what about his completely burnt torso?

What does my head in is if TFUII Starkiller was a clone, and there was a dark version completely loyal to Vader, then why not just clone himself? It would be a much more powerful clone.

Or why doesn't the Emporer just clone Vader to take his place?

Synthflesh or cloned flesh. We can do skin grafts nowadays, Star Wars tech should allow for any transplant.

God... dammit...

The ridiculous power aside, that was still one very boring confrontation. Not exactly a 'Luke meets the Emperor' moment.

Wait, so Jadus can disappear and teleport? Wow.

Yeah, I read about it on TVTropes and I was like 'wait, what the ****'? he never did that when I fought him.

I mean, teleportation already exists in canon but never that fast or usable in combat. Does Darth Baras do outrageous shit like that? I've heard that Thanaton is also quite overpowered and can somehow fly with Force Lightning, any of the other Council members recieve wankfests?

Edit: I'm interested in what Mr. Spencer thinks.

Nicely done, Quickdraw. I was about to post them.
My guess is that it's more of an illusion than outright teleportation, but it could be a variant of the 'fold space' technique utilized by the Aing-Tii.

^ Doesn't Mother Talzin teleport in CW?

Yes.

Looks like Mr. Lucien called it:

Have you freaking seen Star Wars lately? That's what the Force is now. Teleportation, conjuration, alteration, transfiguration, time travel, planet-eating... and you think some colored effects are a deal-breaker? The Force has become Magic, the Potter variety.

x 2

Though the Force has always been more mystical magic-based than sci-fi telekinesis etc imo.

I don't mind badass Force powers, but by that I usually mean maxed out TK or telepathy.

The Nightsisters don't bother me so much because Word of God has it that their powers only manifest in such bizarre ways on Dathomir.

Thanaton does force fly in a battle on Corellia, iirc.

Yeah, super-powerful TK, TP or Force Lightning is fine, those are the 'core' powers of the mythos. But then theres the really Fantasy-esque abilities that seem a little out of place.

But Sith magic and other mystical powers have been in the EU since practically the beginning I guess.

Does he really do it with Sith Lightning? Cuz thats pretty out there.

EU powers are usually disregarded, but there's definitely wiggle room when you consider Palpatine's comment that dark side powers can be unnatural. That's Filoni's justification for Maul's resurrection, anyway.

Yep. Did you know that Superman-esque Heat vision exists in Star Wars? I bet no-one working for Lucas does. I get the sense alot of Force powers are just made up on the fly.

It's been awhile, but I recall there being "energy" present while he ****ing flew away after a duel in which I handed him his ass. All via cutscene.

Ladies and gentlemen, greatness personified.
