Official pictorial depiction is MALE.

Jedi Consular: Miralukan Female Sage - I don't like the male voice.

North should be ashamed. Really expected better from him.

Ahhhh nice to have you back LeGenD...

But in all seriousness, I'm pretty sure one of the game creators tweeted that those pictures don't mean shit.

They don't. Many of them contradict each other on the same page in different pictures.

Yeah those pictures really don't mean shit.

It was so bad I was forced to reroll as a female in 10 minutes.

I thought Nox's female voice was pretty damn awesome.

I thought most of the voices, except for the male Knight and male Consular were done well, the Knight being kind of boring, but the Consular one was just terrible. I liked Male Sith Warrior and Female Inquisitor the most, however.

Thank you

I am not asserting that the pictorial depictions are FINAL representations of each class but they are official works nonetheless.

In the referred sourcebook, pictorial depictions of playable characters are in pages dedicated to their stories. In the story section of Sith Inquisitor, a pictorial depiction explicitly reveals the character's face and gender is MALE.

It is likely that the pictorial depictions of each playable character have been given a thought and discussed with various contributors to SWTOR content before being given a go-ahead to be published in an important SWTOR sourcebook.

I am inclined to take official pictorial depictions seriously, unless overruled by latest official declarations.

One of the game writers has said that these pictures don't confirm anything: https://twitter.com/hallhood/status/256790273751932931

Plus, a lot of them contradict each other.

The way I look at it, any character that's competent and/or badass is canonically male. 👆

Hmm, thanks for sharing.

So fans/readers are left to speculate about this topic then. Well, I will not speculate.

Apparently the Barsen'thor is portrayed as a human female in one picture and as a twi'lek in another.

The Imperial Agent, Smuggler, Trooper and Consular pages show both male and female characters in their pictoral depictions. The Warrior shows two different male characters, one overweight.

Noted! Yes, contradiction in depiction of this particular playable character.

But most depictions are consistent in matter of gender. In some cases, playable characters are shown in different attires.

Did you note Neph's examples above? And how none of them were related to attire?

Others:
