Gotta completely disagree. I'm also unsure why you put it in quotes? For the most part, we (USA) are entirely free when it comes to speech. You're allowed just as much to rip on Christianity as Islam.

That's fair enough. As long as it's all around freedom to insult any creed or group you like. Against Jews, Christians, Homosexuals, Women, Colored People e.t.c. and just general freedom to verbally bully. Freedom to be Sexist, Anti-Semitic, Homophobic and so forth.
What gets to me is the hypocrisy of this whole stance they're taking in France. Charlie apparently fired someone from his company for Anti-Semitic remarks. But then he proves his right to insult the Muslims's spiritual and ethical leader, which is in essence an insult to all Muslims everywhere who follow him. Hypocrisy much?
And I personally think their whole Freedom they're arguing for is a joke when they don't even allow Muslim Women to cover their heads with a scarf in some public places (as well as wearing Crosses too), whilst outright completely ban the veil.
So like I said "Freedom" is whatever suits the local bias.
I personally prefer how it is here in the UK. Where you are free to wear what you like, and free to debate and criticize all you like, but lines are drawn when people are just "Insulting" in a way that incites hate.
