Sounds like it's the schools fault, tbh. Any student that's actually engaged in the class will have an opinion on the subject matter, if it's a strong enough opinion they may even vocalize it. It's the establishment that pulls the trigger on firing a teacher for "being offensive", though. Students being offended by conflicting world views is to be expected- I'm not sure why presenting those world views is a firing offense.

So I only glanced over the article because it's long and I need to go to sleep but apparently he's only received the dick from a pissed off conservative student, rather than liberal.

Why is this sissy little bitchboy scared of his liberal students then?

Hey how about that, an engaging discussion! Yes, the guy is a tad bit sensitive.

LOL. I just realized Windu didn't attend Anakin's knighting ceremony. LMFAO

I got the idea that the conservative students don't know how (or didn't develop the leverage) to navigate the college administration's sympathies & power structures. So, like, the conservative students' complaints are expected and easy to dismiss, especially a decade ago. But nowadays the liberal students are likely to complain using an angle that the college can't just brush off. And because of the changes in the academic job market, teachers face pressure from the students as well as the administrators.

Oh okay. Well I guess that makes a little sense then. I still don't know why he's so afraid when it hasn't happened yet, but whatever.

I read a bit and it seemed like some things had happened to other teachers like not getting their contract renewed after a complaint but tbh it did mostly sound like paranoia with some legit concerns about how easy it is for the system to overreact.

I remember from my secondary school some students being utter wankers to teachers and taunting them that they could get them fired if they so much as touched them.

In my freshman year I had an openly gay algebra teacher who spent most of the year venting to us about his boyfriends and lecturing us on condom use. During the last month of class he threw a desk at a student and called him a "stupid son of a *****" because the guy wouldn't put his phone away.

I've always wondered how he managed to keep his job... still works at the school as far as I know. Coolest math teacher I ever had.

Did he touch you?

Is Fate of the Jedi Abyss a good book?

Well, Luke almost gets tentacle raped in a dream realm...

10/10 would read again 👆
