I'm sure you like the story of Bauhaus though, given how it was shut down by the nazis the moment they took over even though its philosophy would fit in the new reich quite easily. The problem was that most of the artists weren't pure German. 🙂

Yeah lmao, always thought it was pretty retarded. With the acknowledgement of the "impure" with the right philosophical/political track by the Nazis, they would way easier get people to support them instead of eliminating everything non-pure. It would give them the example to follow.

I honestly think their anti-excess and harmony of form-funtion ideas were perfect for the Nazis. Not to mention how Bauhaus had more potential to contribute to industrialization than any school of art. It was indeed retarded of them to shut down this school with such hesitation. Those "degenerate art" exhibitions were pretty funny tho 🙂
