At Dxun atm.
So far, so good. Obviously the game isn't as rich as Mass Effect with respect to visuals or content, but it's been an enjoyable experience.
Kreia is fun to talk to, but she's still Obviously Untrustworthy and Sinister. Which is fine, but obviously a dubious mentor for the player character. Her handling of Atton is believable: she's not skilled or sophisticated enough to earn the trust of anyone with half a brain, so she resorts to crude blackmail. That's understandable. And she's clearly a keen judge of character. But Sidious shits all over her as a strategist and manipulator. And as a Force user, obv. 👆
The most fun so far was my conversation with Atris. Right now my character tends to lean lighter than dark simply because there are few situations where I can justify being so ruthlessly petty and vicious. Definitely illustrates the quandary of being a Force user in such a context: so far, I'm playing from the angle that the Exile sided with Revan and Malak because of the lives at stake, not because he/she was personally enamored with them.
Gameplay is ok. I'm mostly in it for the story, as I was with KOTOR. Which one has the better story? KOTOR is still in the lead so far, as the Force wound thing remains utter tripe and Malak > Sion and Nihilus by far.
But we'll see.
Back to ze game.
I completely agree. I played it last year with the restored content mod and was really enjoying it up until I returned to Dantooine. In fact, I'd say KotOR 2's early/mid game is far better and more enjoyable than the original KotOR's. But whereas the original KotOR becomes significantly better with the twist and everything afterwards, KotOR 2 descends into mediocrity.

Dxun is head over heels the most enjoyable part of the game, imho. Atris is a ****ing *****, and I hate her ass, tbh. Kreia obviously does strike as ridiculously untrustworthy; it doesn't make much sense for the Exile to trust her.
In regards to Bao-Dur's influence, it's actually pretty easy, Neph. You just have to know when. Last time I played KOTOR II, I turned him into a Jedi by the time I got to Dantooine [and it was my first planet].
Goto is one of my favorite characters in the game, actually. Always has been. I look forward to exploring more.
Nah. N. apparently lingers in the shadows and strikes without warning when his enemies are gathered and unprepared. Lends even more evidence to my long-held belief that Nihilus isn't nearly as effective against an enemy who is prepared to fight him.
