Lol, the closest thing to a RL-based military anime I've watched recently was GATE: Jieitai Kano Chi Nite. And that barely qualifies, given the setting.

Go with Hetalia and watch the dub since a good deal of its humor comes from the accents and stereotypes each country portrays.

Hetalia actually is better as a dub. CB and Kino's Journey too. I thought I'd give it a chance. Damn, should have know they wouldn't have bothered making it any good once Madhouse sold the dubbing rights.

Madhouse arguably puts out the most consistently high quality material among the major studios. 👆

They actually make it apart of their MO to never take on a season 2 for unfinished works as they are not about making endless filler which I honestly respect.

Overlord was pretty good. It was nice to finally get a show that had an OP MC who knew how to and was willing to wield his power.
