Some people didn't like it others did. I thought it was a very good blockbuster and the beginning of realistic sci fi movies. Also helps that I was young so it's more of a nostalgia thing. But I'd give the first one a solid 7/7.5 while this one gets a -5.

The Force Awakens was great. ...Unoriginal.

But pretty awesome.

Then again, there isn't a lot thats original in Media.

I found the first Independence Day more entertaining than Force Awakens tbh. It also ripped off SW in many ways, but at least was presenting it in a new and Original way.

The action and special effects were great at the time. Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum scenes were so entertaining, especially when they shared screen time.

But it had plenty of flaws as well. Mainly it being a "Americans kick some Alien butt" cheese fest.

Was a Massive film at the time though.
