That video is honestly creepy as ****.

She looks god damn robot that malfunctioned.

Sheer brilliance, tbh

@ ant: the video posted above looks like a 4/10 cringe, but lasts for only a moment before she goes back to talking to the crowd. My parents have done much more embarrassing things than that, even if we restrict to physical comedy. The video editing ads maybe .5 to the cringe, but it seemed like a forced meme than an actual Hillary is a robot opportunity for memeing.

Lemme pull up a better one:

http://sandandglass.tumblr.com/post/147695107122/thebeachboys-oddbagel-as-millennial-she-has

Link. Read the comments. The narration really parallels the facial tics and pushes the meme into new territory. I'd say this is an 8.5 or 9 out of 10, with the dank point average for Hillary memes hovering around a 6 (she's an easy target).

Obama's foreign policy has regained much of the international goodwill lost during the Iraq invasion, while implementing some pretty invasive drone strikes all around the world. He's held the South China Sea despite increasingly aggressive posturing from China. Even his negotiations with Iran have slowed their nuclear program, as far as I'm aware. (He imposed unprecedented sanctions that resulted in a re-opening of UN inspections for nuclear plants, iirc.) I think it would be difficult to call his presidency a goddamn disaster.

I didn't say presidency, I said foreign policy, which it has for the most part. Iran continues making threats against Israel and from what I understand, abusing the generous sanctions imposed on it.

My concerns about Trump diplomacy center around the times when he can't get his way. I was thinking mostly about domestic negotiations, where he has more power nominally but the other party can veto things. What if Nancy Pelosi arranges a filibuster for a measure he supports, will he have all of her measures blocked in retaliation?

This is a fair point, I'm not sure what he would do. I guess we would need to delve deeper into his business dealings to see if a similar scenario has happened and what his response was.

On the international stage, my concern is mostly about ignorance. Trump hasn't ever negotiated with the leverage of the United States behind him. He's already talking about throwing our economic weight at Mexico to fund the wall. That kind of maneuvering has real costs to both sides of the border. In a unified company, economic losses from one division can be made up by another. In a country, when one group or demographic suffers they don't get their losses underwritten by corporate. (This is without even mentioning Trump's record of bankruptcies!)

You're essentially repeating yourself here because you're saying hilary is more experienced in politics which I haven't argued. Trump has negotiated thousands upon thousands of billion dollar deals and although it's not exactly the same thing, it's similar. If you want to keep harping on the fact that Hilary has SOME experience in this area whereas Trump doesn't, it's not much of a discussion any longer. People also want to mention Trump's 3-4 bankruptcies, yet ignore the thousands and thousands of business deals he's done over his lifetime. If your bankruptcy rate is under 5%, that's impressive. Also, turning 20 million into a billion is even more impression. Give 100 people 20 million dollars, I doubt you find one person that turns that into a billion, so I don't worry too much about his bankruptcies. The only criticism I have is regarding his laissez faire attitude towards some of the businesses that failed.

So there's two things that I'm seeing here-- Hillary isn't a compelling campaigner, and Hillary isn't very popular. I think that being a great campaigner is not necessary to be a great president. With regards to the popularity, there's been about two decades of concerted attacks on her and her character. Something about her really lends itself to political attacks. And yet, the testimony of her colleagues who actually work with her is overwhelmingly positive:

I'm not sure how this is proof. First of all, I know ezra klein's writing, he's extremely left leaning so this wouldn't be an objective article. Secondly, she appears hated by the Republicans (not Ted Cruz hated but close). She also is hated by Bernie supporters. Honestly, it's clear to me why she's so hated. She's incredibly transparent in her pandering and it's as if she's constantly insulting the intelligence of human beings. I saw this a few months ago:

If we get down to cold logic and ignore emotional appeal or revulsion to either candidate, can you really say that Trump is better prepared or equipped to be president than Clinton?
No, but that wasn't my argument and you know that. My argument was given what we already know, I'm willing to take my chances with Trump.

More importantly, I'm not sure he's willing to learn

This is where I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. You don't become a billionaire without a willingness to learn or adapt, or possess a modicum of pragmaticism.

See above. Trump has already offered to delegate Foreign policy and Domestic policy to Pence. Would you like to have a conversation about whether Pence would be a good president?

I'm not too familiar with Pence aside from the RFRA so it would be a pointless discussion. Now is your problem with Pence's alleged bigotry or do you not think he's capable of presiding over domestic and foreign policy?

Even if you don't take that bait, I'd love to get a feel about which of Donald's specific accomplishments make you think that he is a satisfactory candidate. Ignore Hillary for a second. Just tell me why you're willing to conceive of him sitting in the Oval Office (right next to the red button).

1. I'm interested to see how Trump can repeal Obamacare, yet expand health care coverage with lower costs (costs have skyrocketed with Obamacare/ACA).
2. I support his VA reforms
3. I'm VERY interested in seeing how his negotiations with China will go regarding fair trade. He has a point as well regarding China's years of currency manipulation. I think we owe $5 trillion to China, so in theory, some of our national debt could be wiped out with proper negotiations (you can argue if Trump is the right negotiator). When it comes to money, I want him at my negotiating table.
4. I know economics but I don't understand how Trump plans to lower taxes, increase spending, AND lower our debt/deficit. Those numbers don't add up to me. His detailed tax plan IS interesting but I don't undertand that 1 major detail because the math doesn't add up.
5. As an immigrant myself, I'm against completely open borders. That hasn't worked out for Europe and that's not going to work here. I support deporting illegal aliens that have committed felonies in this country. I also support getting rid of these ridiculous sanctuary cities.
6. I'm not sure how you feel about nationalism because technically speaking, that hasn't really been the "American way", but based on where we are with the economy, as well as losing American jobs to outsourcing and dealing with a fluctuating dollar/currency manipulation with our creditors, I'm all for "putting Americans" first, whatever that means in practice. At least until our economy has rebounded and is steady.
7. I'm not a fan of the $15 minimum wage. We've seen the shitstorm in Seattle.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/will-raising-minimum-wage-to-15-an-hour-kill-jobs/

To be fair, I don't have an alternative either. I just don't think this one will work, and it hasn't thus far.
