It's hard for people to feel sympathy behind a screen, Neph.

Even your best internet friend can turn around and morph into a giant dick for various reasons. Let's also remember that some users have egos because they believe this hobby is some real achievement of sorts.

In the end people are dicks because they can be, and because they're unable to feel any connection to the user.

Let us all just acknowledge that we are big nerds who fight amongst each other when it comes to fictional characters and it's absolutely pathetic. And we would also sit at the same table if this was a high school so bleh

I hugely agree with that. The internet has a real problem with people acting at their worst just because they can. Which is why I find it hard to sympathise with people getting annoyed that they actually have to check their behavior and not act like assh*les.
