You know it will be an Epic fight. It would be unforgivable if Filoni just had Kenobi shit stomp Maul. Not to mention it's be a really anti-climatic ending to this story.

I didn't appreciate that the majority wasn't even about the Force Awakens. Also his sections on Diversity and Sex were just bad. Actually that's most of it......... He didn't really talk about the movie at all really....... Hmmm.

I've been pretty down on most of Redlettermedia's recent stuff tbh.

Good criticism: The story wasn't compelling because it didn't take on any new themes, it's basically a soft reboot of ANH. The story between ROTJ and TFA would have been a more compelling story.

The story between RotJ and TFA would have just been a rehash of the Prequels tbh. And I don't feel reusing themes necessarily makes a story uncompelling, given SW is constantly recycling itself.

TFA copied more than just themes from ANH. The basic story, villain, threat and final battle were all almost the same.

The opening scene was pretty much the same as was the politics they set up, which made little sense being a sequel to the OT.

Could have been interesting to have the villains as the underdogs for a change. Like terrorists.

I agree though the fall of the Republic and should have been more of a presence. Sadly, that's partly a consequence of the PT backlash.
