@Kurk, pretty awful post:
You know...I think some of you have the wrong impression about why many of us voted for Trump and support the Republican party in general. It's not because we hate women or people of color, it's not because we are xenophobic racist rednecks, and it's not because we're uneducated. The reason why I personally and many others continue to support the Republican party is because we simply do not give a rat's fuc**ng ass about a small percentage of so-called marginalized people. I honestly don't give a shit and this is coming from someone who attends an extremely liberal private school where—no joke—60+ percent of my peers supported Bernie. I'm typing this right now as I observe that many schoolmates are absent presumably due to the butt-hurt of the election.
You just assume that the groups that are "so-called marginalized" are small, when this group includes women, minorities, immigrants, Muslims, the LGBT community, etc. That makes up a substantially greater share of the population than the number of Americans who would actually be meaningfully harmed by undocumented immigration. Speaking of that...
Understand that in the real world you eat or be eaten. Soft folks either need to grow a pair, man up, and compromise for their insecurities/weaknesses or continue to be taken advantaged of and suffer. No one is going to hold your hand if you feel offended in life. I have my own weaknesses which I acknowledge and compensate for the best I can. Never do I ***** about my problems to others in an attempt for sympathy.
This is pretty hilarious given that the entire anti-"illegal"-immigration stance of Trump supporters is based on wanting to be coddled and protected from people who are beating them. Most notably, you're afraid that immigrants will come and take your jobs, even though the fact that employers are giving them jobs over you suggests that they have some sort of legitimate market advantage over you, .i.e. the same free market you guys claim to worship. So while the marginalized groups that the Democratic Party caters to can actually claim a history of being unfairly discriminated against, you guys are merely losing in the free market, and so you want to expand one of the most flagrant restrictions on said market, .i.e. arbitrary employment laws by residency status.
If you really believed in this weird social darwinist view, you'd welcome in immigrants to compete in the markets freely.
So as the child of immigrants from a muslim country, here is my advice to people complaining about Trump:- If you are an immigrant living in the US understand that this country traditionally belongs to a specific demographic of people and their corresponding culture.
Do you have a case for why these immigrants, who themselves displaced original Native American settlers, have some intrinsic right to the land beyond the newer arriving immigrants? And appealing to the hard work that their ancestors put in is irrelevant; the fact of the matter is that there's no evidence that native borns are more productive or beneficial than immigrants, and indeed, a lot of data suggests the opposite.
You're also welcome to clarify your veiled racial quip about "demographic of people", as if we should give credit by association so that all white people are rewarded exclusively for Thomas Jefferson's actions or something. Conveniently ignore the fact that the vast majority of American Nobel Prize winners are first or second generation immigrants, who also disproportionately dominate Silicon Valley, graduate programs, Math Olympiad teams, etc. Just keep making veiled appeals to popularity/tradition/so logically nonsensical that I can't really pin a specific fallacy to it.
Learn to respect said people and culture that allowed you to come to this great country in the first place.
The implication being that Trump supporters are capable of judging people on an individual basis. It's not like they're known for stereotyping and targeting foreigners regardless of whether they've done anything wrong or anything. 🙄
- My advice to all young people in general is to learn how to become self-sufficient financially and at life in general. It's pathetic to see how many millennials don't know how to change a tire, write a check, manage their finances efficiently, cook, etc. This, in my opinion, is a product of today's parents coddling their children for far too long without installing in them discipline or life skills essential to survival. You will be taken advantage of like a child if you can't be a responsible adult.
Obviously generally good advice, but today's millennials are actually more likely to hold part time jobs in school, more highly educated, more socially conscious, and generally better informed than previous generations. Don't let the good old day's mentality fool you.
- Educate yourself outside the classroom and learn to be more rational. Meditate, read, whatever allows you to have a clear mind I don't care. It's a part of growing up and will allow you to think with your head rather than your heart hence allowing your make smarter decisions in life.
Well this is kind of pot kettle, albeit true.
Bonus:- Keep yourself in great physical and mental shape. Eat healthy and workout.
- Learn self-defensive. Kickboxing, MMA, Okinawan Karate, Krav Maga are all great. Guns are great, but you should have foundation to build off of.
This part might sound extremely stupid but I tend to look up to the Mandalorian Death Watch as they embody most of the qualities I've mentioned.
I don't know if you're being an idiot or just trolling as usual, although your equally idiotic buddies like Freshest and Ziggy seem to be foaming at the mouth at this verbal diarrhea, so nice job galvanizing your base, I guess.

Nah, they just didn't expect him to win. Most didn't, really.
Quite frankly, most who did were being idiots. There might have been some who honestly saw whatever parameters swung this Trump's way, but most were just predicting a Trump victory on purely emotional grounds.
And yeah, they happened to be right - but most of them were just lucky.
Originally posted by ZenwolfWell I joked that I was gonna move to Canada if Trump wins, but I was already planning on doing that eventually since my boyfriend lives in Canada. Does that count?
Wonder how many hypocrites there are who said they would do X if Trump got in, but won't really be doing anything. I really find that bothersome.

But then again there are studies which confirm a correlation between level of education and number of off-spring so you figure it out.

A great many people literally meant what they said, so it's not really hyperbole. It would be hyperbole if they didn't mean to be taken seriously, but they obviously did.
Obviously? How?
Conservatives were saying the same thing when gay marriage was legalized (ironic, given that Canada has gay marriage too lmfao).
