These are great, lmao:
I have a newfound respect for Peyton Manning. He may have been the most valuable NFL player ever, period. I mean...
👆
Also, check this out.
Bree and Eli's defenses average at around 19th, and despite that, Drew still puts up astronomical numbers year in and year out. He hasn't really had many HoF's, or even Pro Bowlers, to throw to either.
It still astounds me how many omits him from the top 10.
The thing with Peyton is that he can have years where his defense is rated somewhere in the 20's or high teens (like 2004 and 2013) and still win 12+ games due to his ability to dominate the game. Crazy understanding of how to pick apart defenses. His 2004 MVP season may be the greatest season by any quarterback ever.
And yeah, Drew is easily a top 10 quarterback. For me, he's around 6th or 7th.
Yeah, I have Montana, Brady, and Manning in the absolute top tier of quarterback greatness.
That said, in terms of pure ability to dominate the football field and control the game, I'm probably taking peak Manning and peak Rodgers:
1A: Peak Manning
1B: Peak Rodgers
3. Brady/Montana
4. Montana/Brady
5. Brees
Nah, the best season by any QB ever is Tom Brady's 2007 season. I know he also had Randy Moss at his peak, but goddamn, his numbers are so ridiculous that only by playing Madden on Rookie level can you achieve them.
It's closely followed by Rodgers' 2011 and Peyton's 2004, though.
And yeah, Manning in his prime was an absolute beast. I think no other QB has ever had such command of the offense to the point the HC is practically irrelevant. Think about it, Jim ****ing Caldwell was coach when Peyton was still in his prime and Dungy retired, and nobody even gave a shit about him because the Colts didn't lose a beat.
And yeah, Brees is ridiculous. I'd honestly lose respect for any NFL fan who omits him from the top 10.
I mean, 5 5000+ yards seasons. What the actual ****?
Actually, I gotta side with Skillz here P.
Manning only had 1 less TD pass than TB12, and, about 400 less passing yards. The kicker here? He threw 80+ less passes than Brady, nearly two entire games worth. Meaning, his efficiency was literally insane, no doubt better than Brady's. He also had the superior QBR, and vastly inferior defense to go along with it.
I can see a case being made for either, but I said with Peyton's being the best of the modern era.

Actually, yeah, nevermind. For some reason, I was thinking Brady was the one with the 55 TD season, while in fact, it was Peyton.
I find Peyton's 2013 season more impressive than his 2004 one. Way more.
Jedi Academy is amazing.

A simple stat comparison should suffice:
2004: 67.6 pct, 4,557 yds, 49 TDs, 10 INTs, 9.2 avg.
2013: 68.3 pct, 5,477 yds, 55 TDs, 10 INTs, 8.3 avg.
It's simply better. Better pct, almost a thousand yards more, 6 more TDs, same amount of INTs.
Dat f-ucking lesbian hair tho. I guess I'll be shagging Asari ass again.
Some things worth noting,
- His the rule changes and such, it was significantly harder to pass in 2004, than it was in 2013. A simple check at the numbers for the average QB will show this.
- In 2013, Peyton threw the ball damn near 200 more times than he did in 2004, or about 4 freaking games worth.
- Peyton, in 2004, had a superior QBR, yards per attempt, TD percentage, etc. Peyton was simply more efficient here.
_______
Ones you peel beneath the gaudy numbers, a case could certainly be made for 2004, based on rules changes that helps the offense, and effiency that's in '04 Peyton's favor.
