It's the third one, which is that people get bored of discussing the same shit in different flavors. How many times can there be a debate about who would win if Obi-Wan fought X.
Star Wars vs. has basically been condensed into making up as random a combination of fighters as possible. With TOR slowing down and nuWars offering few enticing new fighters we currently have a lull in fresh topics.
This is the cycle the boards have been going through since its inception. The core members get bored of discussing Star Wars, grow up and move on with their lives and activity drops. Then new members join or new Star Wars stuff comes out and the cycle repeats.

My predecessor was Nai, my successor at this rate will probably be Ant. Everyone else is either getting banned or getting a life.

Do you think that's because people here are so sure of their own knowledge and intelligence they don't feel the need to discuss things with lessers? Or is it a lack of confidence that engaging with others will make them appear weaker so they attempt to remain aloof and thus akin to gods in the minds of the public.
Some threads are pretty cut and dry from the getgo. One decent response by someone well-informed on the subject can typically end the discussion entirely.
Some threads(like Bart's fleet/ship versus threads) don't get many replies because people simply don't know much about the subject matter to make an intelligible decision.
Some threads are made as intentional crap, and the responses tend to be intentional crap as a result.
And finally, some threads are legitimately competitive on paper -- this is where we're most likely to see multiple well-informed people having a decent debate on the subject at hand. But again, this is becoming increasingly rare on ALL forums.
So I dunno if anyone else has or did. But any of ya play Star Wars Galaxies back in the day? I'm playing the SWG: Legends emulator and it's such a nostalgia trip...it's certainly bringing me back and helping me forget about all the bad stuff that's currently going on with SW...political nonsense and what have you.
