You definitely should. When it comes to setting, character, a continuing storyline, and mind numbingly awesome "wtf" moments (season 3 finale being a prime example to anybody who watched the show) Lost truly is head and shoulders above any other TV show.
Yes, it's head and shoulders above every other show, for the sexually confused teenagers. It's not even close to 99% of the cases introduced in law & order, or the humor of Arrested/Always Sunny.
Dexter's pretty good; Law & Order is also pretty good, but it's entirely too straightforward for my tastes (which is my complaint regarding CSI and shows like it).
Boston Legal was innovative. It wasn't procedural and it was as hilarious as it was heartbreaking. Alan Shore's evolution from an unimaginably douche-bag lawyer to the douchebag champion of the underdog was splendid.

The straightforwardness of Law and Order is an attraction for the older crowd and/or law students. That's why it's been around for 20 years. I didn't like Boston Legal because it had a lot of unnecessary drama and therefore, not enough straightforwardness. I like case+prosecution and/or twist.

I don't watch Law and Order regularly, but I think I remember one in which they tried persecuting the former Vice President for guantanamo bay.

Does DS9 ever start developing a continuing storyline out of curiosity? The first episode was pretty promising but I started getting bored with all of the standalone stories in each episode and stopped watching it about 6 episodes in.
DS9 is known specifically for its complex plot arcs and a war between the Federation and the Dominion that lasts for three seasons.
DS9 easily blows every other Trek show out of the water.

I respect that opinion, I just don't understand it.
You want straightforward? Watch CourtTV (CourTV?). The whole point of a fictional drama is allow for drama.

Boston Legal was sublime with that, which is why Spader won Emmys for his performance during the cases.

That was last season, easily one of the best episodes ever made. McCoy tried to prosecute the entire Bush Administration, and failed.

I don't take any of these award ceremonies seriously with the current stupidity of the American people. There's a reason Arrested Development won Emmys, yet American Idol and "So You Think You Can Dance" are still on tv.
