Well consider that this graph is about recessions and it simply ignores the biggest one in American history. Then consider why DS might have posted it alongside his relevant, totally analytical caption.
You should come to the conclusion that Nem's spot on.
When people are trying to make a point, they often exclude information that would make that point look lolworthy. That big red dip on that graph wouldn't be the big red dip if the figures from the Depression were charted on there.
