I feel like Nolan himself snuck into my dreams, extracted everything I would want in a movie, and went onward from there.

I'm like a major Nolan fanboy and I didn't even think it was that good. Definitely no Memento or The Prestige. I'd give it an 8.9.

The Prestige loses major points with me becuase the trick (the machine) Jackson uses isn't possible. Take The Illusionist for example. Everything is fantastical but everything is very much possible. Though the others guys (plural 😛) trick almost makes up for it.

I didn't really mind the supernatural element behind the cloning device or supernatural elements within stories based in the real world in general; as long as they serve some thematic significance within the story rather than just being thrown in there as a novelty, and the story itself is something I can appreciate it then it's all good.
