What do you mean by missing...that thing i said about Jean's coffin being empty thats just what i heard..not what i saw...maybe it will be in the next x-men.
It wasn't in the movie that her coffin was empty...so it's non-canon according to the mythos of the films. Never count a character dead in X-Men though.

I too have waited to see Dark Phoenix bought to the big screen for over ten years. Disappointed as I am to have not seen the firebird, I liked the effects used, and bow down to the wonder that is Famke Janssen for helping to create one of the most chilling movie characters EVER!
Just think about it...actually seeing the firebird on screen...that could go either awesomely or it could look like crap.

For all those of us who have seen X-Men 3, I have to say how disappointed I am. I waited thirteen years for the Dark Phoenix character to come to the screen, and even though Famke Jensen did a WONDERFUL job at portraying the character (when she was given the chance) the writers and the new director royaly screwed this one up. I find it really hard to believe that Chris Claremont and the original writers of the phoenix storyline would ever approve of this. And Ill say it again...THERE WAS NOT EVEN A FRINKIN FIREBIRD! Do you understand how anti-climatic this was...first you take away the fabulous costume design of the Phoenix character...and her fabulous belt which was the best accessory ever for a comic character...and then you make the Phoenix some kind of alternate personailty for Jean Grey...COME ON!!!!! Screw the reality crap...give me my cosmic entiity! I was really sad that they barley even used her, especially toward the end when she did nothing during the battle until the very end, and what a rediculous way to kill her...again Wolverine overshadowed everything unnecessarily.
At the very least she could have injected herself with all those needles she stopped in the air...that would have been the closest thing to a ray beam of self-sacrafice on the moon! Famke did again, an amazing job of portraying the madness and psychotic persona of the Phoenix force, and none of this was her fault...but the writers really messed this up. This is what happens when a director with a passion for the characters leaves. I'm sure now the Superman movie is going to phenomenal.
X-3 was visually stunning, and as the saying goes..."If it doesn't work right, then make it look pretty." The movie was pretty, but with a very hollow character development and storyline X-3 is the most anti-climatic story arc of a trilogy I have ever seen. Watch the cartoon series from 90's if you want anything close to what it SHOULD have been.
And don't even get me started on how they tried to build last-minute suspense in the end...last minute suspense would have been giving me my belt and firebird!!!!!
Thirteen years? Dark Phoenix first showed herself 26 years ago. This would show how old you are, I believe.
Chris Claremont himself has said the movies cannot be absolutely literal to the comics - "people would laugh at Logan in yellow spandex" he said - and so the emphasis is making this as realistic-looking as possible. No other kinds of superheroes, no otherworldly cosmics, just the mutants and the humans. They made Dark Phoenix as powerful as possible, without getting into cosmic, intergalactic events. That would require whole other movies to explain.

Thanks. That helped a lot. But do you think any of them will be in the next movie...i also noticed in the movie it had dates like 10years ago and not too distant future..maybe that will be a cover up to bring jean back...and maybe some of her kids.
The "Not Too Distant Future" was just a group session in the Danger Room. Remember?
In the movie was jean the phoenix all the time? like when she killed professor, who was she Jean or Phoenix. When they were fighting her eyes were normal then later they turned black(i think that means it phoenix) and then she killed the prof. So who is she Jean or Phoenix. In the lab when Jean broke through she was worried and sad she even said "kill me" then she changed to Phoenix and took off. So is she Phoenix or Jean...the movie confused me.
