Maybe if his parents died. But then again, think of it this way:

When Bruce Wayne's parents died he was a minor, so his fortune was left untouched until he turned 18 or whatever. If Bill Gates' parents died, he wouldn't have to wait 10 years to be filthy stinkin' rich, so instead of going all vengeance-y he could just become an alcoholic.
