Best Horror Movies Ever--Bar None:

1. The Exorcist
2. The Shining
3. Jaws

The problem with most horror movies is that they don't understand that "Less is More." The more gore and monster you show, the less terrifying it becomes. These movies were great at suggesting the hidden thing that lay beneath the surface...

4. Psycho
5. The Fly (Chronenberg)
6. The Thing

These movies showed more gore than the previous three, but still retained a good psychological edge.
