Anyone here a fan of David Hewson, author of such books such as: A Season For The Dead, The Sacred Cut, The Villa of Mysteries and The Lizards Bite.

His books are set in Italy, Rome, circulating around an Italian detective called Nic Costa. Currently I am reading A Season For The Dead, heres what it's about:

Whilst Sara Farnese pores over ancient texts in the silent Vatican reading room, a brutal murder is taking place in a nearby church. Then suddenly a crazed man arrives in the Vatican carrying a bloodied bag. He walks up to Saras desk. He has something he would like her to see...

Soon Sara is inextricably linked to a series of horrific and cunning murders, each one in someway symbolizing the death of a Christian martyr.

Into this climate enter Detectives Costa and Rossi, enlisted to track down the killer, and to protect Sara from the horrors she is doomed to confront...

So far I'm through to Chapter 15 and I'm loving every second of the book. The way Hewson described Rome and it's characters is simply fantastic and you actually feel as if your walking through Rome with the detectives. The book has been billed by the Washington Post as 'Better than THE DA VINCI CODE'. It is a great book so far, and I'm looking forward to reading some more.

I highly recommend this book to crime and mystery lovers and this book will just be the perfect catch for you. Anyone else read or heard about David Hewson?
