Freedom of Speech Infringement?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13047151/

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, writing for the court’s majority, said the First Amendment does not protect “every statement a public employee makes in the course of doing his or her job.”

There are QUITE a number of things that freedom of speech does not protect.

I am not surprised.

all i'm going to say.

America is not the land of the free, Canada is.
and from the looks of it, u guys dont even have free speech anymore.

I hope this doesn't suprise anyone. There have been rules in place to protect the vital information housed by the government for years. However, this ruling takes it to the next level and allows for serious in-roads towards the removal of the freedom of speech in this country. Employees who work around sensative information have always been required to sign confidentiality agreements. It need go no further than that. To "blow the whistle" on something that is blatantly wrong is the freedom and responsability of every American. And while this ruling won't stop that from happening, it does provide some serious barriers to the descision to do so.

GO DUBYAH!
