Didn't it come from the word 'owned'? I remember Janus or Sorgo saying something like that.

Saying it like 'owned' but with a 'p' sounds dumb, so I think of it as 'pawned', like in chess, getting beaten by a pawn....the weakest piece. Makes more sense to me.

I say like 'PWND' because there is no need for the E since its silent nor the O

I say PAWNED too, but I always thought of it as an extension of "Owned."

Like "Purchased and OWNED. PWNED.

I always thought of it as Pawned.

But I recently found out that it's Powned really.

And after hearing that commercial where it has people talking on a message board and there reading what they wrote like, "ROFL", "LOL", "STFU".

And they're actually reading the letters out and then the last one says "You got POWNED message person".

And it just cracked me up. So I'm beginning to like Powned now over Pawned.

is it comprehensible.....

My god. There's just so many everyday instances where misspelled (sic) words make up my lexicon.

Infact, I say "Sprry" pretty much everyday. That's pronounced sp-urr-ee, for those playing along at home.

Pwned, however, has indeed lost its lustre over the years. Same with ORLY, and hypen x0rz.

You say it like "pawnt", this is what my mommy told me.

I use "pwned" "O RLY" and the like very rarely, only when it really, really needs to be said.
