Watchmen Movie: aln moore's Legendary Limited Seriesd To become a movie!!!!

So, i was surfing Comic book Movies the other day and found a thing about a watchmen film *it has an official site too etc) and I was wondering what you guys knew of and thought of this! 💃

Yeah. It's been in pre-production for months now.

This could be good or bad. Even "V", which did a good job, wasn't on par with Moore's original work, and Watchmen will be even harder to pull off correctly. If they do it, it'll be brilliant. If not, we might have another League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. 🙄

Do not. Mention. The name. Of LXG. Ever again. Or those will be the last words you write with your fingers before I remove them from your hands. I have tried to forget that movie for years. 😠

I honestly didn't see much that was bad about the movie (Of course i never read the comic series and would kill to get scans *Wink* *WinK* *nudge* *nudge*)

I seriously dunno what will be of this movie. They have Zack Snyder attached to direct and I think that's already a serious problem. I personally enjoyed his remake of Dawn Of The Dead simply because it really wasn't a remake considering the amount of changes to it. I think he lacks the experience to direct a movie of this caliber and his style isn't for this job. I personally adore Watchmen and hope Zack does it justice.

Also, I found this hoax whilst searching:

Oh dear god.... NO!

It's a mistake. Watchmen just has too much going on to make the transition into cinema, and still turn out well.

Alan Moore must be thrilled...

Agreed. I think there is too much going on in the comic to be placed in the movie for it have or re-create the same impact the comics created.

moore's gonna be dirt rich...

Too much to pack into a movie. I think it would be better as a movie mini series liek Band of Brothers. Whether or not that would help generate revenoue tho...

It'll suck so badly... apparently Watchmen was gonna be a movie a few years ago but they changed the end to some kinmd of shitty time retcon involving Dr Manhattan to miss out the bloody ending and it never took off... ❌

If The Watchmen is made into a movie, it'll be 10 times worse than League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. The story spans over 12 issues and has way, way too much content to be condensed into a 90 minute/120 minute movie. The same thing happened with From Hell. This movie does not need to be made.

They successfully squeezed 10 issues of V For Vendetta into a good, 2-hour plus film.
I don't believe Moore is thrilled it could finally be made. He expects the worst from film companies after what's happened; though, his reasons for distancing himself from VFV were specious, if you ask me.

Mmm... it will suck so badly...

Now Zach Snyder is the latest director to sign on.
There must be good buzz about 300 for him to get the job, because he's not a cerebral filmmaker.

It'll suck. That story line is way too complicated and in deep that a movie would only tarnish it.
Plus, it's a D.C character, and D.C people can't make movies. I'd wager they don't is because they realize how cheesy their heroes really look.

When the characters appear, I'll bet they'll have a more realistic, ultimate-type look.

They could still do a good job.

It'll be hard, because The Watchmen is incredibly deep and complex, but it's possible. I thought V For Vendetta did a decent job. You still lose a ton from comic-to-movie, but they did about as well as could be expected. The same, hopefully, will be said for Watchmen because it's hard to get better source material.

I must say, having recently seen VFV I really liked the film, though I've never read the graphic novel... Watchmen though is gonna be harder to sell partly cos people are gonna see corny looking heroes and run a mile.
