Superman may be the most known superhero, yet everyone who doesn't read the comics thinks he lacks a soul. And he does, he's indestructable, always same haircut, good job ... Marvel didn't want to create a cooler or even stronger hero, no, they want to bring the human out of the hero. And that's probably why spiderman is so popular, you can really relate to him. Superman on the other hand outsped a train, you can't say, oh yes, darling , the other day while i was running ...
Daredevil was the first superhero with a handicap. I don't see superman having an arm break, ow yes, i remember, he's invulnerable ! That are some of the reasons why it just isn't so exciting to read a superman comic compared to a spiderman comic. Ok, you can say that wolverine is invulnerable too, but he has a soul, a character that superman lacks.
