Yeah he is really underated and one of my favorite characters who constantly has a crap load of badass moments but doesn't get the credit for it.

However, perhaps because of his place among such giants as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, Aquaman has often been the subject of mockery for having limited and relatively useless powers (see the Cultural references section below).
