Pre Crisis Animal man
at this point both superheros where considered mystery men and mortal.
however after the big old vertigo transformation both of them eventuall gained god like powers so we have
Morphus of the Endless, The man of sand, Lord shaper ( and all his other names he collects for himself
Vs
The Animal man at the hight of his Shamanic powers. during this period where he attains god hood. and all that weird buissness
this battle takes place on neutral ground. neither of them has an advantage.
