And Superman doesn't have to hurt Sinister, when he could punch or throw him to another state, which he wouldn't have a problem with, knowing Sinister would survive.

Of course then Supes kills him and his soul is transfered to the body of someone else. Then Doom comes back a year or two later and kills Supes and everyone he has ever loved 😛
