So, bought it and its pretty neat.

It's a cross betweem Dues Ex and actually good shooting. It's realistic as possible....maybe a bit too much. It's pretty cool though.

But I would wait for the ****ing patch. I just dont understand anymore. I have an 3Ghz processor, 512 Radeon x1600 card, and 1 gig of ram and its all over the place...sometimes it looks great, and then it skips and then goes to a black screen and the returns.....and then 10 minutes later it ****ing crashes. **** this.

Awww....I feel for you.

Had no idea this game was out now though..

I can't help but snicker at your colorful way of expressing your frustration with the game though. ermmlaugh

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Yeah, well, I was pretty damn pissed off.

There is nothing worst than a game with crappy bugs, and not just the typical graphical glitch, or a freezeup that happens once but the whole I cant play the damn game.

Especially considering this game has been in development for ages. Way to screw the pooch THQ and GSC, all those years wasted because you decided to actually release this game 2 months earlier. Now, nonbody is going to buy the game because its buggy as shit. Hopefully the patch is out soon.

I'm totally hooked on this game.. yeah it is a bit buggy and at times so jumpy its unplayable but the atmosphere and scope (almost) make up for it. Some levels are so freakin hard though.. cos the AI is so intelligent it almost knows what ur about to do before you do it.

will persisit, bugfix better come out soon though!

I'm not even going to bother until patch 5 comes out.

It's completely unworkable on my computer, and its because the game engine has some sort of problem with ATI cards in the x-range.

I heared its being worked on, but **** them, I'm waiting.

I dont care if its a tad bit buggy like the Battlefield series, but atleast you can play the game.

Another thing I dont like is that it was touted to be an open world but in fact its not at all. Thier's loading screens everytime you jump into a new map which kills the immersion factor tenfold. So pretty much its a linear game.

When it works, its pretty awesome...but for a game that took such a long time, it should have been worked on more.

Mine mostly works ok! a bit jumpy at times is all, but im not fully spec'd up and have it on medium settings.

and yeah.. while it is a lot more open ended than games like HL and Doom etc it still is 'fairly' linear. In saying that though the maps are pretty broad and you can certainly pick and choose which sub missions you want to do when.

The actual Character realism is good though, the weight system is very realistic and you cant just spray an area with rounds as they are not plentyful thats for sure. I find myself dropping an whole heap of equipment before running into a prolonged fight so I can free up some weight for manuvering.

and the scenery, esp the buildings and powerplants etc are beautifully rendered and you can generally climb all over them too giving you heaps of tactical options.

anyway, bugs aside its still the most immersive FPS ive played so far.

i dont have much time due to school and work, but i finally got a hold of this game.

i hate to say, i really hate to say it cuz i thought i'd never have to say this, but i am enjoying this game more than Half Life (1 & 2).

Almost every aspect of this game is entertaining. And i love the fact that it's so difficult in master mode (i had to switch to novice for now).

Cons:
Glitchs here and there
AI is at times either perfect or horrible.
Too realistic at times.

I enjoyed it also, but its Half Life is light years away from this game.

It had some cool ideas, but it needed more time to develop. Ironic considering it tooks years to develop.

I enjoyed the first half of the game alot more than the second half, but it does have its share of huge problems.

A. Buggy as shit
B. Level design could of been alot better.
C. Too much repetition (the story missions are always in the same depleted underground bunker)
D. Sub missions are annoying ( you get alot of automatic sidequests that are always identical)

I really enjoy large open world games like this but the atmosphere is lost when it comes down to the missions. The game is suppose to be about this treasure finders and gangs that roam around a area thats filled with radiation, but there is no connection with the world you live in. You pass a area, and then come back and the level is repopulated with enemies or other STALKERS. Takes you away from the game.

another problem, the game actually gave me a headache. i'm not use to it being so realistic.

my cousin's kid (8 years old) almost threw up form watching the screen too much. he had to lie down. no joke.

but great game regardless.

i'm kinda slow right now, since i haven't played a FPS in a while. trying to get that perfect protective suit.

Yeah, I can see that.
I didnt have a problem with this game but I recently bought a new mouse, the Razer Lachesis, and it was so bloody sensitive that I nauseous.

I had to return it for christ sakes.

Anyways, the thing I really liked about the STALKER was the idea of the guns, and suits. I like the RPG element about it. Too bad there wasnt alot of them, or the ability to upgrade them.

sounds crazy but i like the fact that the gun can jam.

okay, i defeated the game, but this can't be it. just doesn't make sense. the entire game was fantastic, the ending was brilliant, but now that it's over, i cant finish all the other side missions.

are there multiple endings?

Spoiler:
i arrived at the wishing flame thing where he wishes to be rich and ends up dying when the ceiling collapses.

i really dont want to start over, even though i though i think this is the best FPS ever.

Yeah, the game is over.

Thier are multiple endings and you got one of the bad ones. You got that because you have over a certain amount of money so thats why you asked about.

You can just reload the save before that.

so wait, the game always ends at the wishing thing? and it's based on certain things that i have and dont have?

Yep.

There is a few things once you get into the final level. You went to the wishing thing which gave you your ending of the money.

I on the other hand got the C-Concious ending which is in the secret lab.

If this is confusing is because you went the wish granter and the game ended, while I went to the secret lab, did my thing and then had to go through these teleporters until the last part of the game. (its outside the plant)

okay thanks for the info. i'm almost there.

the game was incredible, but it could have been better.

will they be making part 2 of this game or is this it?

There is a prequel called Clear Sky that is being released in Augest.

I think it is, but it will probalby be delayed like STALKER

a prequel? wouldn't a sequel make more sense.

Not really.

All the endings correct the what happens in the Zone. Also, the story was awful, so I think the developers are trying to go a new route with a new character.

But the prequel makes the most logical sense because the only thing very interesting about the setting was the actual zone and how it became that. A prequel could show that.
