I found this post while browsing the net. It's pretty weird.

"Has anyone noticed how the writers of Voltron had this strange obsession with the abduction and implied rape of Princess Alura?

Every time I watch an episode of Voltron it seems like that evil Prince Lothar guy (or whatever his name is) is motivated by the idea of doing Princess Alura (her name implies erotic intrigue, what if they named her “Princess Repulsa” instead?) even if she can’t stand him, and he peruses her to the point of sexual harassment.

For example, this morning he had his witch-lady send an invisible monster who grabbed her and carried her off, writhing and whimpering through the air. It seems like everything she does is erotic but with a kind of innocuous air on the surface that denies it, which is similar to the "innocent Lolita unaware of her powers" fantasy hentai seems to have with women.

Maybe the writers were just garden-variety pervs obsessed with the idea of a blonde European woman (provincial Europe being a setting that repeatedly seems to have captured the imaginations of 80’s anime creators), but they also make her grossly incompetent. Then the Voltron guys have to save her, and although they obviously want to do her they demonstrate their goodness via restraint (as a foil to the evil price guy who’s so hard up for her, also a strangely christian idea for Japanese folks).
