It’s the scan that compares identical reading of Nates power to the Dark Phoenix.

In Earth-295 (Age of Apocalypse) Mr. Sinister comes across a mutant in the form of a young women, the direct descendent to an all powerful mutant known as Alpha who is mysteriously linked with Phoenix.
However Mr. Sinister did not just want to manipulate Jean Grey. His hatred mixed with fear towards the high lord Apocalypse, coupled with his perversion with genetic manipulation. Lead him to seek out, and harness Jeans genetic material coupled with another unknown donor (Summers), with the hope of creating mutant weapon.
Nathan Grey, was birthed in Sinister lab. Due to his rapid age acceleration (orchestrated by Sinister), he spent most of his time in a nutrient bathed chamber. Yet at a vary early stage of his life, Sinister comes to find out that young Nate potential is much more then he dreamed off.
Young Nate with something less then a thought, shifted himself, and Sinster from his Lab, to the gene-pens. As psinoic projections..nothing more than astral forms invisible, and undetectable to its surroundings. Sinister is farther shocked by the fact that, young Nate can fully interact with its surrounding despite being in a substance-less form.
Only to be farther surprised by the fact, that Nate Grey completely swept through his telepathic abilities, along with the active psi-disrupters.
Sinister would not be the only person, to witness Nathan psionic potential first hand. Blaquesmith would be the first to register his power reading, and classify his threat. Blaquesmith, one of Cable’s mentors, a vary skillful telepath who can not only block Jean and Xavier’s telepathy, but erase their short term memories.
His fear…that X-Man can extinguish both his and Cables life with less then a thought. Yet has enough psionic might to irreversibly tear apart the Psionic Plane.
Xavier is the next respectable character, to speak of Nate’s testament. He first sensed an overwhelming psi presence, when Nate first appeared in his reality. He was completely shocked, when Nate seemingly pulled Xavier psionic from, from the astral plane, giving it substance. A deed once thought to be impossible until today. Every time Nate uses his power, it creates ripples in the psionic plane.
Revelation
The boys power was mapped. Moira was shocked. Moira held a meeting, she showed the boys power graphed. She showed the most power psi power in records. Using both files, she cross referenced the data, and overlapped it. Her finding shocks the rest of the X-Mens. From this data, she makes an extrapolated comment, of what’s to come down the road of Nates life. The eventual burn out that will consume the world.
His potential matches that of the Phoenix, from the Dark Phoenix arc. We as the readers, by know come to understand, Mr. Sinister efforts and Dark Beast comes to realization. Sinister attempted to create a mutant weapon, using the genetic material of another who at the time was harnessing the Phoenix Force. Sinister succeeded and created, one of the most powerful psi mutants in any reality.
Nate Grey body thought the course comic, attempted to cope with the burning energies. Its body would at time shut off his TP (X-Man #42), another time, it shut down its TK (X-Man #26). A survival instinct, to keep Nate from prematurely burning out. However Richards revelation, and its short lived accession gave us a definitive answer. At all times Nate’s power is limited by conscious, unconscious self restrains, built in psi inhibiters, and other unknown artificial limiters that although limited Nate power. Was still suffice to place him powers above the charts, yet within a known and define limit. Uncorking this power, would mean the end of him. Yet it is what the M’Kran Crystal Guardians, Apocalypse, and Onslaught; respected and sough to address through their own motivations.
